Does anybody have any idea of what days/time the games are? Like when each classification is playing. How does the FHSAA determine this?

Dates and locations of the games:

Gene Cox Stadium, Dec. 8-10, 2022 (Classes 1M, 1R, 1S & 2S)
DRV PNK Stadium, Dec.15-17, 2022 (Classes 2M, 3M, 4M, 3S & 4S)

Everything else TBD at this point.

It would help if they broke down which class plays on which day , as well as the times.

Agreed, but I'm guessing the games in Tallahassee will be played on Thursday night, Friday night and then a day/night double-header on Saturday.  Similarly, for the Ft. Lauderdale games, a single game on Thurday followed by day/night double-headers on Friday and Saturday.

I think they (the FHSAA) typically waits until all the teams are determined before setting the games so that they can take into account travel schedules and also determine which games are likely to bring in the biggest crowds.

All that said, yes, it would be nice to know which games are scheduled to be played when.

Why didn’t the suburban and rural teams play in north Florida and the metro teams play in south Florida?

Chaminade has to drive 9 hours to play a game when half the title games are minutes up the road. And if Columbia qualifies they will have to head 7 hours South instead of up the street to Tally.

what kind of incompetence is having metro championships in a suburban county?

Columbia QB club and coaches both asked the same thing

Josh just posted the schedule for next week tally games and I feel like they got it wrong.

1M is Thursday at 7p

2S Friday at 7p

1S and 1R Saturday at 1pm and 7pm

So the 2 games with teams that'll be traveling a good distance and could be decent games will be played on days where there won't be many fans  and parents able to travel due to distance and work schedules

FHSAA probably figures not many fans will be making the trip to Tallahassee regardless of whether the game in played on a Thursday, a Friday or a Saturday.  But, they'll bring in more money with the games on Saturday.

They should play the suburban classes in Gainesville. They should play the metro classes in Fort Lauderdale. That makes the most sense

Gainesville doesn't want it and the only stadium in Gainesville they could use would be UF stadium and the finals coincides with the fall graduation so they wouldn't have availability that weekend

Maybe lake city should build a 15,000 seat stadium right off I 75. There’s already a lot of little hotels right there. Add a few more and you’ve got a perfect location for finals

If Columbia ever got turf they could hold the suburban one

After all tiger stadium has more seating than Gene Cox does

Agree 100%. Unlike some my experience with the FHSAA has always been good and I generally try not to pile on knowing their hands are somewhat tied in decision making and 50% are going to be pissed off regardless of what they say or do. ( "Perspective" made the same point on another thread.) Scheduling is totally their call to make, and there is no excuse not to have it out weeks before the finals. Families and teams must travel. Plans must be made ahead of time. No way should the FHSAA drag this out.

    • I was actually itching to treat some wager some money on some sports matches that are happening above-board now. I wanted to let you guys identify that I did spot what I ruminate on to be the kindest site in the USA. If you fall short of to get in on the spirit, check it out-moded: https://pokeronline.guru/online-gambling/
    • Perhaps the best RB in Tampa Bay iin 2023 saw his program close, and is looking for a home. If he stays in the area,Venice is a good bet. (Lakeland may be as well).
    • And if that same newsletter asked the Osceola County Sheriff Department, what do you think the response would be? If you asked, members of the Chamber of Commerce? (Essentially a union of businesses) If you asked a group of nurses? If you asked a group of lawyers? Also a union cares about the working conditions of their members, but the working conditions of teachers are the learning conditions of students as well. People are attracted to careers because of the values that come with those careers. Political Parties attract people based on their values. So it shouldn't be surprising that certain professions attract certain people in certain careers. You act as if the principal's first question when we have a 5,000+ teachers shortage in this state is "who do you vote for? And are you a member of the union?"
    • I feel like y'all are always solid so I don't see y'all going no worse than 7-3. Biggest question mark for Cocoa is their O-line since they are only returning 1 and on the defensive side they only return their blue chip edge in their front 7
    • Coach Wiseman, let me just preface this by saying that you were the best HC Sarasota's program has had in the last 20+ years. You brought them from being a perpetual losing program to the doorstep of competing with Venice for a district title and a deep playoff run. SHS will curse the day they fired you now that they are back in a rut. You are a true class act, and nothing will ever convince me otherwise.  Our backfield is certainly sparse right now. We do have Dorian Jones, a rising sophomore runningback whom did considerably well considering his limited playing time last season. Our offense will need an overhaul with the graduation of 3 offensive linemen and almost our entire receiving corps. Our defensive line will be strong with the return of Ke'shawn Vaughn, Elijah Jones, and Asharri Charles. Our linebacking corps graduates virtually everybody but should have at least one bright spot with the return of Ben Zarkawiecz. Our defensive backfield is still a work in progress with the graduation of Lester and Platt. At the moment, we have more question marks than exclamation points. And that's not a good feeling with the kind of competition Venice is going to face.
