Transfers 2017

Central has built quite the Pembroke Pines pipeline

Seems to be more Broward Public players in general heading to Dade of late....

Coral Glades 2 best players transferred to STA and most recently Miami Norland.  You don't generally see kids from Coral Springs Public schools  transferring to Dade publics like Norland.  As long as kids are playing by the transfer rules, more power to them in challenging themselves to potentially more opportunity for them in their future.

DB Nadab Joseph (LSU commit) and DE Kayode Oladele (FSU commit), both from Edison, are transferring to Champagnat Catholic. Can't be a coincidence that the old coach is out and all these transfers happen. I also heard they hired a new defensive coordinator over there.

You are right ...Edison's roster has really taken a hit of late.

Champagnat Catholic's roster was pretty loaded a few years back, from what I am seeing of late the 2017 team might be the strongest yet.

Allegedly he was involved with a minor who was one of his students.. Heard about firing a couple months ago but I'm sure if you Google it you will find more about it.

That's not smart. And it cost him. Pity Edison's chances are ruined as a result.

Is this Topnotch that used to rep the Bulls on the Florida Varsity Board? Man you haven't posted in a long time.

Shame if it's true

Not only did he decide to break law (if true) but that decision ended up leaving a team hanging that could have been really good this year

Yeah that's me lol. I know I've been gone for a while but I'm back on both boards.

How does northwestern stack up against central, Carol City and Norland going into 2017?

I know this question wasn't for me lol but lets see if top notch agrees. I think The West should be favored in the district. They have Tutu Atwell coming back at QB, a ton of transfers coming in, and they already had good talent. They were good enough to win state last season, had they hung on vs Carol City I think they would have.

Central will be their main competition. Carol City will be good, but I think losing your head coach, OC and DC will have some effect. Norland will be solid, but definitely the 4th team in the district. And don't forget that Hialeah-Miami Lakes is back in the district lol.

Man that district battle is going to be awesome.   This season can't get here soon enough.

I would have to say I agree for the most part. Game still has to be played on the field but don't see why The West wouldn't be favorite. I always thought this year would be the year they do it and last year the West and CC were basically equal splitting 2 games with CC winning the one that mattered the most. Our secondary was weakest part of our defense and cost us late against CC but I think secondary is much improved. Central will probably be the main competition. Looks like their defense will be better as well just have to see what else they have on offense besides Cook and if their QB ready to take that next step. Carol City lost 9 starters on defense and all their coaches so while offense should still be good not sure about their defense this year. Should be a great year for HS football.

    • Here’s a scenario that will cook your noodle. There’s an 11th grader at a D rated public school. Lives in a bad neighborhood with a single mom and a bunch of siblings. Dirt poor, and struggle just to eat and keep the lights on. He can’t get a part time job to help out because he has to watch his little siblings while his mom works.    The school he plays for has poor attendance at the football games, and is always bad. He is a super star for them and tons of new bandwagon fans start to attend the games because they are good and he is the reason. School is making tons of new money.    Season is over. Back to reality for him. School year is over. Summer hits. Some “runner” on behalf of the rich local private school “offers” his mom, him, and all his siblings a way out of poverty. New place to live, food on the table, and an opportunity to get a quality education and maximize exposure for all the top colleges to see. A once in a lifetime opportunity to get his family out of poverty. What say you? Does he say no and continue to barely survive, or does he take the deal?
    • To make it short and sweet. I am against breaking the rules. If there is a rule that seems outdated or unfair then it should be amended/changed/repealed with majority rule
    • I am a huge proponent of innocent until proven guilty, and due process with credible evidence. I support a credible investigation, and not some witch hunt by disgruntled folks both near and far from the program. Let’s hope they can get to the bottom of this quickly
    • Thanks for admitting that you do not know why they transferred or the several others that mysteriously transferred to that school (not a known powerhouse).  Thanks for also agreeing you specifically have to ask all the kids that left for seemingly inexplicable reasons why.  That happened as a matter of fact which raises suspicion thus the launch of an investigation by the FHSAA who hopefully will ask YOUR question as well as many more to get to the bottom of it.  Any fair-minded person should readily support this investigation.  If you don't support and admitted you don't know the facts, you are basically guilty of what some are accusing you of.  I would hope you would like to know the TRUTH as opposed to simply attacking the messengers.
    • Nolebull, so here's the scenario:   A coach or a booster from a high school in Florida approaches a kid who plays football at a different school and offers that kid and/or that kid's parents a boatload of benefits (money, an apartment, or anything else that would, under existing rules, qualify as an "impermissible benefit").  Let's break this down:  it's OK for the kid and his family to accept the impermissible benefits as long as they believe that they're making the 'best decision' for their family.  And it's OK for the coach or booster to provide such impermissible benefits because that somehow improves the kid's chances of succeeding as an athlete and/or student.  Wait, it's not just "OK" for the coach or booster to do that, they should be encouraged to do that because that's the only way they'll be able to keep up with all the other coaches and boosters that are breaking the rules by providing impermissible benefits to other kids.  Have I got that right?  Do you want to do away with all the rules involving recruiting, benefits, transferring, etc. or just keep the rules in place, but not enforce them?   #Lordoftheflies
