The Haitian population in Orlando has exploded over the last 15 to 20 years. When I moved to Orlando at the end of 1990 there weren't many. Back then it was mostly Jamaicans. I would say that in Greater Orlando there are now at least as many Haitians as Jamaicans, possibly more. I have become a big fan of the Haitian version of Rice and Beans.

Heellll yeeaaahhh you already know we Haitians throw that diri ak pwa down i told the Jamaicans at my job that we do it better LOL

Proseteye,

As a St. Pete Catholic alumni, yes- we've had some good to very good football teams in the 1990's and early 2000's. The 2004 SPC team was amazing with Rb Jock Sanders and QB Billy Tapp. The 2001 team with Chris Davis at Qb was very strong as well. SPC's 2013 8-4 team was the last team I would consider "good" as they made the regional finals. Even the 2002 SPC team with QB Gary Fiegel and RB Deondra Lindsey was competitive in games against teams not named CCC or Jesuit.

I think coaching has something to do with it, as the coaches SPC has had the past 5-7 years have been successful at other programs; however, haven't been able to do much with the Baron program. I'm sure if John Davis. John Brantley or a Verlon Dorminey were at St. Pete Catholic with time and resources they could turn the program into a respectable program, but the foundation isn't there right now to breed a competitive program. If I saw twitter correctly, when Brooks transferred to CCC, the Barons only had 9 kids in the weightroom and 11 on the roster total.

I just think it's strange that St. Pete Catholic's coach enrolls his son into CCC, leaves SPC and is trying to land an assistant coaching job at CCC. If twitter is accurate, most of the SPC kids will be transferring to CCC in the coming days, forcing SPC to probably drop football for at least Spring and re-evaluate the program in Fall. When the position opens, I'm curious who applies for it.

I'm pondering a couple of things. Since SPC currently has only 378 students do they belong in 3A? I would think they should be in 1A or an Independent. Also, the school seems to pride itself academically. Possibly the curriculum and community service requirement  may be too difficult for the team players to keep up with. It's very sad that the team could end up closing down this year.
