We go into halftime with Atlantic up 7-6 on Miami Northwestern.

Evans beat Colonial 42-0. Colonial is very bad and unless they make rapid improvement between now and late August, they will be lucky to win a single regular season game.

At the half, Dr. Phillips led Winter Park 14-0. This was a much better game. Phillips does not look as good as they did last spring mainly due to breaking in a new QB. Winter Park looked better than expected and was able to move the ball on Phillips a bit. I thought WP would have fallen off as they had a senior heavy team last year.

MNW Atwell connects 45 yards to WR Derek Davis , and the 2 point conversion is short up the middle.

Atlantic just had a 50yard+ QB keeper but a chop block brings it back.

MNW just picked off Atlantic in their own red zone and now 10 yards away from opening the lead up.

 

MNW starting to lay down the law a bit and impose their will showing a little more attitude now than the first half.

For sure.  I can conservatively say they are a top 10 team in the state - preseason for me. 

I also would also say Atlantic Delray may be a top 25 team preseason in FL for me.

 

I'm not making those statements based on what I watched tonight. Tonight just reassured some of the homework I have been doing this preseason.  Not that it takes a genius to know MNW will be a power in 2017 but I have honestly been keeping up with Atlantic a while now and am fairly confident they will be an 8A contender in 2017.   I think it will come down to team discipline starting with coaching.  MNW as a team looked so much more uniform and disciplined to me. From the warm ups to the sidelines to coming out at halftime. 

Atlantic's sidelines had people walking in and out of the team sidelines from the stands going unnoticed. Kids between 5 and 15 running around , throwing footballs 5 feet behind the team and coaches during a game.

 These are things some people will frown at me about  ( making such statements during a spring game)  ......  Maybe that's the way they roll, but you won't roll into Orlando with that lack of control.

So if Dillard wins their district do we still play teams out of district 6a 16 I mean how does that go & what is the schedule for tomorrow games
