So if Dillard wins their district do we still play teams out of district 6a 16 I mean how does that go & what is the schedule for tomorrow games

Sportsnut or Josh could probably break that playoff answer down better for you, Mighty.

As to tomorrow's games:

For sure.  I can conservatively say they are a top 10 team in the state - preseason for me.

I also would also say Atlantic Delray may be a top 25 team preseason in FL for me.

SO what was the score for hallandale boyd Anderson?  & also it says Booker t vs Miami norland at Ely was that a typo

Dillard here how it will break down

4 districts per region

Champions will be seeds 1-4 and the seeds are determined by point system

Say you finish 3rd among the district champs in points,  you would be 3rd seed and play the 6th seed

Seeds 5-8 are wild cards and can come from any regional district so say Boyd Anderson ends up as 6th seed wild card

You all would play boyd first round in that scenario

ok lets say hypothetically in region 4 after games are played this ends up being the seeds

1 Miami Northwestern

2 Mainland

3 Dillard

4 Sebastian River

5 Miami Central

6 Boyd Anderson

7 Miami Carol City

8 Miami Norland

here would be first round games

1 seed Miami Northwestern hosting 8 seed Miami Norland

2 seed Mainland hosting 7 seed Miami Carol City

3 seed Dillard hosting 6 seed Boyd Anderson

4 seed Sebastian River hosting 5 seed Miami Central

@MIGHTY_DILLARD_PANTHERS if this dont explain it im not sure how brah lol, this might be best example i can work with

the key thing to keep in mind is that only district champs are guaranteed a playoff spot and district champs guaranteed to host first round games

the point system determines the seeding for those district champs

not as big a change but the biggest is that runner ups are not guaranteed a spot as i tried to show in this scenario, the 5-8 seeds are regional wild cards and can come from any district in the region, so you could get 3 (or even 4 as i showed in the scenario) from a single district in the playoffs, the point system also determines the seeding in the wild card teams

it also leaves the possibility of a district rival playing in the first round instead of the 2nd round, it is also possible for 2 district teams to face in 3rd round but i wont get into that as that would be confusing to explain but key thing here dillard

win district and you still host round 1 so just win and you all will be fine, we will be able to talk more about the seeding stuff in like october

I'm not making those statements based on what I watched tonight. Tonight just reassured some of the homework I have been doing this preseason.  Not that it takes a genius to know MNW will be a power in 2017 but I have honestly been keeping up with Atlantic a while now and am fairly confident they will be an 8A contender in 2017.   I think it will come down to team discipline starting with coaching.  MNW as a team looked so much more uniform and disciplined to me. From the warm ups to the sidelines to coming out at halftime.

Atlantic's sidelines had people walking in and out of the team sidelines from the stands going unnoticed. Kids between 5 and 15 running around , throwing footballs 5 feet behind the team and coaches during a game.

These are things some people will frown at me about  ( making such statements during a spring game)  ......  Maybe that's the way they roll, but you won't roll into Orlando with that lack of control.

even with the loss i think personally atlantic might have a rising stock coming out of that game with miami northwestern

i might have to even think of atlantic as top 10 when i update my preseason top 10, im torn between miramar and atlantic for that 10 spot as i have atlantic at 11, im gonna keep a eye on Miramar spring game with dillard on friday (another team i considering as potential top 25 preseason) so that game will help me a lot when working on these rankings post spring games

Keep in mind 8A Dade has a lot of depth this year.

Expect teams like Southridge, Miami Senior, South Dade, Coral Gables, Columbus, Palmetto, Belen Jesuit and a few others to make for a real interesting year in Region 4.

i do see a lot of building hype with miami senior, have they played a spring game yet?

and teams like south dade, southridge, coral glades and columbus are usually solid teams

not as familiar with belen jesuit, what they got going into the year?

They had a jamboree yesterday with Keys Gate Charter and Champagnat Catholic.

They blasted Keys Gate and went scoreless with Champagnat Catholic.

They have a new HC that was hired internally that has been with the program for over 20 years.

Belen Jesuit is a very stable program that  rarely falls below average

    • I was actually itching to treat some wager some money on some sports matches that are happening above-board now. I wanted to let you guys identify that I did spot what I ruminate on to be the kindest site in the USA. If you fall short of to get in on the spirit, check it out-moded: https://pokeronline.guru/online-gambling/
    • Perhaps the best RB in Tampa Bay iin 2023 saw his program close, and is looking for a home. If he stays in the area,Venice is a good bet. (Lakeland may be as well).
    • And if that same newsletter asked the Osceola County Sheriff Department, what do you think the response would be? If you asked, members of the Chamber of Commerce? (Essentially a union of businesses) If you asked a group of nurses? If you asked a group of lawyers? Also a union cares about the working conditions of their members, but the working conditions of teachers are the learning conditions of students as well. People are attracted to careers because of the values that come with those careers. Political Parties attract people based on their values. So it shouldn't be surprising that certain professions attract certain people in certain careers. You act as if the principal's first question when we have a 5,000+ teachers shortage in this state is "who do you vote for? And are you a member of the union?"
    • I feel like y'all are always solid so I don't see y'all going no worse than 7-3. Biggest question mark for Cocoa is their O-line since they are only returning 1 and on the defensive side they only return their blue chip edge in their front 7
    • Coach Wiseman, let me just preface this by saying that you were the best HC Sarasota's program has had in the last 20+ years. You brought them from being a perpetual losing program to the doorstep of competing with Venice for a district title and a deep playoff run. SHS will curse the day they fired you now that they are back in a rut. You are a true class act, and nothing will ever convince me otherwise.  Our backfield is certainly sparse right now. We do have Dorian Jones, a rising sophomore runningback whom did considerably well considering his limited playing time last season. Our offense will need an overhaul with the graduation of 3 offensive linemen and almost our entire receiving corps. Our defensive line will be strong with the return of Ke'shawn Vaughn, Elijah Jones, and Asharri Charles. Our linebacking corps graduates virtually everybody but should have at least one bright spot with the return of Ben Zarkawiecz. Our defensive backfield is still a work in progress with the graduation of Lester and Platt. At the moment, we have more question marks than exclamation points. And that's not a good feeling with the kind of competition Venice is going to face.
