South Florida *notable must see KOC games/score predictions

Blanche Ely @ American heritage- being that we can very well end up playing both of these schools this year , Ely (soul bowl) & American heritage possibly in playoffs. I’m going to most def be looking at the score of this game to see what both schools are looking like going into the season.

 

Miramar @ Edison - another matchup with a team we play this season (Miramar) so this is another game I’m going to keep my eye on, both teams are gonna b looking to make a statement and start the season off right. 
 

Cardinal Newman @ homestead - this is actually a 10am Saturday game at traz. Not sure what Cardinal Newman brings back but they have been a force in WPB the last two years, this should be a very good game. 
 

Armwood @ Miami norland - this game should’ve been the night cap , the hawks are fielding arguably their best squad in school history this year, norland who went undefeated all the way to the title game last year & lost has to be coming into this season with their hair on fire looking to avenge such a heart breaking season last year. 
 

western vs Plantation - this is another opponent Dillard will face this year (plantation) in week 2. Without Steve Davis who stepped down again last year I’m interested in seeing how plantation does this year. Western they’ve been top 5 in broward county in transfers the last few years but haven’t been able to get over the hump, can they do it this year ? We’re gonna find out. 
 

Coconut creek vs monarch - a coconut creek showdown this is a one city rivalry game and you can be sure to have a lot of trash talk and some blood shed in this game. Both teams are gonna win this 1 bad for inner city bragging rights & to get their season off to a great start with both teams having a tough schedule ahead.

We will see about Armwood. That 2011 team that went undefeated winning state(beating my MC team) on the field, finishing #2 in the nation before the forfeits will be HARD to top.

My point exactly so were most def gonna see starting this week. It’s one thing to look great on paper, but it has to be able to transfer to the field.

I remember that team. Went out to Vegas and beat Bishop Gorman on a late field goal. Probably the best team in Tampa (area) history. I don’t recognize the forfeits. That was at a time when private schools could get kids from wherever they wanted no questions asked, but the publics would get slammed to the wall for the same thing

I think this is the first time in a long time MC, MNW, BTW, CAROL city, Miami norland all went without winning a state title all in the same year. Usually it’s one or the other. Sometime multiple.

Nolebull, you are certainly entitled to your opinion, but for those other public teams in the Tampa Bay area (rivals, teams in Armwood's district, teams that had to face Armwood in the playoffs, etc.), the fact that Armwood was doing stuff that ultimately resulted in forfeits was meaningful.  Too late to change anything but the history books, but still meaningful. 

This year will be interesting.  Armwood is apparently loaded this year.  Historically, they have always had top-tier talent, but lacked depth - especially in the trenches.  And, if memory serves me correct, their QB this year is talented, but young.  For the first time in a while, Armwood and a resurgent Tampa Plant will be in the same district.   In years past, the two teams would play early in the season and then again in the playoffs (often splitting the two games).  This year, because they are in the same district, the match-up will take place towards the end of the season.  Nevertheless, the new playoff format could result in a Regional finals showdown.  Only time will tell.

I remember plant use to be a force to be reckon with and for an almost the last decade they fell off bad for whatever reason. Glad to here they’re making a comeback

We're going to watch Peachtree Ridge @ Monarch next week. We've never been to a game there. Do they play at the high school or is there a city stadium? Thanks, and I'll hang up and listen.

Peachtree Ridge is coached by a former STA assistant. He has been trying to bring his GA team down here for a few years now.

Coconut Creek is not affluent, but I wouldn't call the area inner city. Inner city would be a Boyd Anderson, etc.

Yes your right and the crazy part about it was with Booker T. Washington. Them tornadoes had that win against Bolles locked in. I believe they were leading the entire game until some point where they took their foot off the petal.

Coconut Creek is a middle class neighborhood. If you want an inner city neighborhood in Broward County you need these areas.

Agree with all your pics. Broncos will win by more. Like Jack Daniels at CN, but they undermanned. 
Armwood & Norland will be closer. Lotta talk outta Tampa bout Armwood. Built big & fast with their best QB forever. A good OL can beat Norland(see Berkeley Prep). 
Palmetto, like u said, will always field a solid D, but their offense is usually pathetic. If the Bulls beat em by 21+, watch out. 
Creek’s DL is their strength. They could give Monarch trouble. Plus they hate each other. Battle of Coconut Creek.

The last 2 years was suppose to be westerns best team , they have to be able to make that next step in the playoffs.

Looking at MaxPreps, the Peachtree Ridge v Monarch game appears to be the first game of a double header at Coconut Creek starting at 4:00, with Coconut Creek v Northwestern following up at 8:00. Can someone confirm this? If so, that's a fantastic evening for us.
