I guess DFB doesn't have a chance against #7 team in the nation... Honestly I look at that game as a 50/50.  Maybe slight underdog since its in NJ.

Keep in mind that Jeff's polls have zero human aspects and it's all algorithm. 

In fact, he wrote:

ECHS05 combined the Preseason Top 100s from both CalPreps and HSFBA... gave #1 105 points (an extra 5 for making the top 100) all the way down to #100 getting 6 points... check'er'aout

Ties in points were broken by seeing which team achieved the highest rank at either poll.

IMG had arguably the hardest schedule last year.  IMG went undefeated last year travelling across the nation.  IMG has arguably the hardest schedule this year.  Although they appear down a bit talent-wise, IMG has one of the most stacked teams again this year.   What gives?

How they are  #5 in a poll that is allowed to rate them baffles me.

I have them at 3 in my current poll but honestly this poll became irrelavant when he ranked armwood over Miami northwestern, Miami Central and Miami Carol City 

 

Smh they gonna overrank armwood again this year, guess this guy didn't listen to anything i said last year lol

What is your reasoning on rating 2 teams higher than IMG?

I believe IMG can be beat by an elite team, but for now (pre-season) I would have to rate them #1 nationally based on the reasoning that I stated.

So if we are rating teams pre-season based on projections of potential losses, you must have a team like Miami Central somewhat low right now?  Considering they likely will not go undefeated.

Well i only done through top 25 and i still have to change things, i been busy with the Florida preseason poll so haven't spent much time on national one yet,  plus I'm waiting for more preseason projections to come out before i continue on list

I'm fine  with Bishop Gorman at 1 based on that reasoning and considering they generally play a couple top 25 elite teams yearly.  

I just don't think anyone can argue that anyone went undefeated with a harder schedule combined with the stacked roster of an IMG in 2016.

Add to their roster the # 3 rated QB in the nation and a 4**** WR with that big line and I can't see losing to anyone again this year. I think there is a bitterness and little hold out from being a sports academy that is allowed to recruit nationally for some of those that rank teams.

I would easily have them at #1 last year and probably this year also. They traveled to California and beat one of the top rated teams in the country. You don't do that 3000 miles away from home unless you are real good.

I can't rank them over The Bishop until the Bishop either loses or plays a weak schedule and from looking at the schedule they play this year the weak schedule not a problem 

 

So until they lose they should be number 1
