Palm Beach Gardens @ Pahokee tonight

This should be INTERESTING tonight, because Pahokee might have about 20 players dressed tonight because of suspensions (fight at school) and going to Glades Central homecoming (there was almost an altercation last year with the football players) so the  Pahokee coaches were trying to prevent anything from happening…but this generation of kids don’t think CONSEQUENCES apply to them.

We were there last night. Had supper at Hook Fish and Chicken. Not as good as Dixie Fried, but still good and more food than any normal human should eat. I got a large order of livers and didn't leave a crumb. Had to take some Tums during the game and some Alka Seltzer when we got home, though. Not sorry we ate there. Got over to the school, but the security person who was going to wand people had the kickoff time wrong and we got to our seats right at kickoff. It was our first trip to Pahokee. Nice looking school and a really nice football facility. I wish the crowd had been bigger, but it was a Monday night. I counted 31 dressed out for Pahokee, but no idea how many actually played. The WR (#13) for Pahokee is a nice player. The outcome was never really in doubt and the closest PBG came to scoring was when they scooped up a fumble and took it back close to 70 yards, only to turn it over a couple of plays later. Overall, we enjoyed the trip from The Fort and it won't be our last to Pahokee or Belle Glade. I grew up in a small Virginia town that loved (and still does) football, and The Muck gives me the feeling of being back there.

Pahokee had about 15 players suspended (7 defensive starters) for that game. Their best player was suspended as well. Backup RB (#2 is the third back), backup QB. That’s why #5 and #0 played the entire game (offense, defense, and special teams). I think the team needed that game to refocus.

#4, 3, 13, 80, and 81 was their first time playing defense ever
