I'm not gonna spend too much time talking about the game there really is no need to. Good luck to Middleburg on the rest of the season. There will be better days ahead for that program.

Now the real journey begins.

Teams at Fleming Island are measured by three things: District Championships, Regional Championships, and State Championships. The Golden Eagles of Fleming Island will start the chase for goal number one this upcoming week when they play the Bobcats of Bucholz.

I personally believe that if Fleming Island won their district these past two years and played some if not all playoff games at home we would have represented the North in at least one of the past two seasons in Orlando for the 7A State Title. In 2011 Fleming Island lost in OT on the road against First Coast. First Coast went on that year to lose to Manatee in the championship. That season we did not win the district championship and in return we ended our season earlier than we wanted to. The following year we lost to Lincoln in the first round. We did not play sound defense at all last year and they exposed that. We played them tough they controlled most of the game but we never were out of it. Late in that game we still had a chance to win. Lincoln went on to play for the state title. Again that season we did not win a district title and ended our season earlier than we wanted to. I think it is overwhelmingly fair to say that if those games were played at Fleming Island we would have won at least one of those two games. Fleming Island is the toughest place to win a football game if you are the opposing team in Northeast Florida. Fleming Island is 1-4 on the road and 6-1 at home in the playoffs.

That said, Joker99 expects nothing short of a district championship. Anything short of a district championship will be considered a disappointment. This is not a football program that prides itself on coming in second place. When Fleming Island designates a place where district titles, state titles, and regional championships will be honored, don't expect there to be a column that says runner-up because I'll tear it down myself if there is.

The last time Fleming Island played Bucholz it was in the regular season in 2008 it was an elimination game, winner got into the playoffs/loser missed the playoffs. Fleming Island lost that game and missed the playoffs that year. That was the last time Fleming Island missed the playoffs.

we went to 5 7on7 tourney last summer and are now enjoying one of the biggest turn arounds in program history. off season accountability starts with competition, and 7on7 is the best thing next to padded camps (which we cannot afford)

    • Complaining about North Florida slappies losing to South Florida powers is like someone graduating high school complaining that companies are only hiring college graduates and not them. And then a company saying ok to make it fair, we will open division and only hire high school graduates.
    • First I want to express my apologies for my absence the last few months. Without going into much detail I have had some personal life struggles I have been dealing with on top of figuring out the direction to take FloridaHSFootball.com in. Things have finally settled out some over the last few weeks although I am not completely out of the woods just yet. Some of the decisions about what direction to take FloridaHSFootball.com have been forming over this time while I went through things. Part of me wondered if it was time to go, but really it is not at all. Thankfully, a loyal supporter near me in Gainesville decided to put their mouth where their money is and did a little investing and today FloridaHSFootball.com launched its first-ever Mobile App. With that said it comes with the sunset of the MVP Membership Subscriptions and thus FloridaHSFootball.com will be 100% free for the first time in a while. This comes as needing to get the clearances with Apple and Google and the current subscription platform we have is not syncing with Apple's system nor with the App itself. Its best we go in this direction to grow fans again and being able to put them facing forward with an app on their phone going forward. Here are the download links for the apps: iOS (Apple): https://apps.apple.com/us/app/floridahsfootball-com/id6477621728 Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.floridahsfootball.app&hl=en_US&gl=US   For now the forums will not be available directly in the app. At some point I maybe looking at changing the whole forum software that could eventually integrate into the app. It will be a while before this happens so things will go on as they are here.   I also apologize for any of the spam and troll accounts that have managed to find their way around the security protocols in setting up new accounts. It seems every day these things find ways to pass through control systems. I am going to be looking at getting this solved and will keep an eye on things here as we go along.   Please feel free to reach out to me if you all need anything, want to chat or have any suggestions.   -- Josh
    • They can definitely beat Central. My bulls is a toss up but I feel we should have the edge. EJ will be hard to stop though. Glad they not in 2A with us.
    • Blountstown at WS Neal AL Sept 27th. Also the Tate vs. Faith Academy game is no more. Tate will be playing Escambia instead now.
