Some advice for Dillard fans coming to the game. JCC's visitor stands are terrible, and about the only way you'll be able to see is to get on the top row and stand. Either that, or sit on the home side. We usually stand in the end zone fence when we go to a game here. The visitor side stands here, and at Cardinal Newman are the two worst visitor side stands I've seen of all the places in Florida that we've been to.

Omg are you serious ? All that money into that school and they don’t even have a half decent away side. Glad I’m going to be there a hour or so before kickoff.

but what’s crazy is that we have a huge alumni following & they’re suppose to be getting a fan bus & if our band comes they have 250 members.

how the hell is that gonna work lol

They’re like St. Edward’s another private school up here. Give or take around 400 kids total, a lot of scholarships and discounts given out to get kids into the school so not as much money coming in and stadium isn’t the priority. The money is then divided up between all the athletics and even academics leaving a lot smaller budget then a typical private school much less a public school. I mean I don’t think Rockledge even had field lights until the early 2000’s when they started winning championships, some schools just can’t afford it. JC hasn’t had a long winning legacy, with boosters behind them and alum like other schools, on top of a very small fan base to make the financial moves to make these multi thousand dollar upgrades I’m sure they wish they could. Most people when they want to watch football on the Treasure Coast go to Vero or Treasure Coast HS games. I went to HS with a lot of kids that transferred to Vero just to play sports because of the bigger program and better facilities/equipment.

Oh wow , thanks for the insight I would’ve never known. When I looked them up the school looked big & nice. And from what I hear from a few people up that way they say JC has a huge following, and on game days the entire city shuts down to come support, even getting support from neighboring high schools when they themselves don’t have games.

add them being (10-0) i thought they were a dominant football program. I’ve never heard of them but I do know they were in the state semis last year. Idk if that’s because they were on the rural side of things during the whole metro rural fiasco but either way I look forward to Friday night.

You've confused them with someone else. John Carroll was 3-7 last year. They were 10-2 the year before, but lost several guys to Vero, including 4 star OT Champ Smith and 4 star LB TJ Alford. Carroll is scrappy, well coached, has a decent QB and a few skill people. They also have a 3 star sophomore OT, but they shouldn't pose any threat for Dillard. I don't know if you planned on eating supper before the game, and don't know what type of food you like, but I recommend...hope you enjoy your trip to The Fort. We still haven't decided where we're going yet, but it could be here. Also looking at Vero v Lake Nona, Treasure Coast at Jupiter, Lakewood at Glades Central or Chipley at Pahokee.

https://www.facebook.com/NuNuSoulFoodTruck/ They are now a sit down restaurant, and excellent. It's also not far from John Carroll.

https://cwkinfolk.com/ My friend Willie Roundtree's place. It's on Indrio Rd, but well worth the 10 extra miles.

https://2ndstreetbistro.com/ Bigger variety of food with lots of outdoor seating in the historic downtown.

https://tacodive.com/locations/fort-pierce-downtown/ Excellent tacos

I’m going to check these out. I love a good meal. Even if it’s multiple times a day :D

In regards to JC yea I see I got them mixed up with another John Carrol but being that you’ve seen them a few times this year, would you say their strength is on the offensive end or defensive end, or were the teams they played were just terrible so they looked good doing everything ?

I’ve looked at their schedule a few times & the best team record wise they’ve played was Jensen beach which is (7-3). Idk kangthing about Jensen beach or how good or mediocre they’re but with JC I seen even when they played teams with 5-5 records or below like Westwood, centennial & etc they gave up 20 or more points even in the win.

so hopefully our defense can dominate on Friday because I do believe we’re gonna be the best and most physical defense they’ve seen all year so far.

Their strength is definitely on the offensive side. They have a good RB who is over 1K yards on the year. The QB is a tall kid, probably around 6'3 and mobile. He has three decent WR in #1, #5 & #23 who do a good job of tracking deep balls and making catches across the middle. Defensively, they tackle well and will play hard. I only saw them twice. Against Westwood in the game that was postponed late third quarter because of what turned out to be a false gunfire threat, they had to hang on at the end for a 28-22 win. Jensen was the best team (record wise, anyway) they played. The final was 35-27, but the game really wasn't that close as we left when it was 35-13 in the 4th and Jensen scored a couple of late touchdowns. Jensen finished 7-3, but will get hammered by American Heritage.

Again, Carroll is a scrappy bunch that is well coached and will play hard, but I can't see them hanging with Dillard's athletes who have played a much tougher schedule, but that's not saying that Dillard should take them lightly.

Most definitely can take anyone lightly. Especially in the playoffs and on the road. They haven’t lost all year and I’m sure their coaching staff is gonna throw everything at us to make it an even playing field.

we just have to go in punch them in the mouth, take their crowd out of it & get this win. While giving them their 1st loss of the season.
