I’m shocked, surprised, stunned, dazed, upset, flabbergasted, astonished, amazed, flummoxed, baffled, confounded, bemused and bewildered by such revelations.  It’s absolutely unimaginable.  B)

It’s almost as if someone down in South Florida has said “Forget our long-standing traditions of ‘honor among thieves’ and 'snitches get stiches,' If I’m going down, everyone is going down!”  (Cue the maniacal laughter).

Shocked for what? An allegation?

In all seriousness, this is just another step closer to the destruction of the FHSAA. Sure, it will always exist, not every school will break apart. However, the FHSAA right or wrong, has hit the big boys of the state. If Central, NW, AFA, etc accept their fate and correct moving forward, then all is well. If they do not, and decide to take a different route, the FHSAA will lose two of their biggest national brands. How many other schools will follow? I just don’t see Central and NW going down without a fight. Once lawsuits hit, it could get messy.

NW definitely accepted their fate. Lol smh

So per Miami Herald, the allegations seem to be true. The FHSAA stated if , & it looks as though they did use a 5th year ineligible player, sanctions will come after the season! Wonder how the green & white feel about that! Same breaking of the rules but the Bulls won’t be penalized till the season is over! Lol

Smh seem to be true? All of these assumptions...

seems pretty cut and dry after reading the article....i cant for the life of me see what the hold up would be.

mnw, send fhsaa the timestamp records of when said student enrolled.  and he is on the playoff roster.

if its what it states,

they forfiet all the games and are eliminated.

why wait 3 weeks,

Cut and dry huh? This is why you wait 3 weeks. NW did nothing wrong.

I’ve got a brilliant idea! Have a tournament of all the teams that had wins taken away and have it broadcasted on ESPN 8 The Ocho…..

Central

I’m sure I am missing some. That’s a solid bracket right there!!

You added one too many.  NW

Hater talk but you always been like that.  Now it's a time issue. Like people dont take time off for the holidays. Nice way to deflect when made a bad ASSUMPTION!! You were hoping they were guilty. Can't even apologize for making a bad assumption. Thought it was innocent until proven guilty??

So, for those who don't have the time or inclination to find the Palm Beach Post article, here's the gist of it:

According to records confirmed by the Miami-Dade School District, the student enrolled in a Miami-Dade public high school (presumably, but not necessarily, Northwestern) in the fall of 2020 for the 2020-21 school year.  After three days, the student withdrew and later took virtual classes.

According to records/transcripts that were provided to the FHSAA (presumably by Northwestern), the student was in the 8th grade in the 2020-21 school year and school attendance records indicate the student did not enter the 9th grade in the 2020-21 school year.

The rule issue is that a kid is limited to 8 consecutive semesters of eligibility and the clock starts running when he starts 9th grade.  So, if he started in 2020, he would not have been eligible to play in 2024.

So, school district records seem to indicate that the kid "started" 9th grade when he enrolled in 2020, but Northwestern school records seem to indicate that he didn't start 9th grade until the 2021-22 school year.  Clearly, there is a contradiction in the records.

Did the kid try to skip from 7th grade to 9th?  Or did he finish 8th grade in the spring of 2020, enroll in high school in the fall of 2020 and then immediately withdraw (for whatever reasons) and decide to take a gap year and/or spend the rest of that school year taking virtual classes?

All that said, and understanding what the rule says, if the kid went to high school for 3 days and then, for whatever reasons, withdrew (and, as a result, did not participate in any high school sports that entire year), and was never too old to play, I'd be inclined to give the kid a waiver to allow him to get in his four years of high school sports. But, typically, the waiver would have had to be requested before the season began and not after . . . but if the Northwestern school records are accurate, there would have been no reason to ask for the waiver until this became an issue.  Bottom line for me, if the school's records truly did not show any record of him attending for 3 days in the fall of 2020 (somewhat hard to believe if the kid did actually show up, as the school district records indicate), I'm okay with the FHSAA findings.

Topnotch, my post was a sarcastic, tongue-in-cheek response to the fact that someone actually had reported Northwestern.

That said, the impression that many people have (and that I have formed on my own after conversations with South Florida coaches) is that Miami-Dade coaches have always been reluctant to turn in another Miami-Dade school for fear that their own misdoings would be brought to light if they did so.   Thus the 'honor among thieves' comment.

Kid went from 7th to the 9th in error. Parents fixed that for him to be in 8th grade and not double promoted. Kid hadn't set foot into a highschool during that time and proof of 8th grade enrollment was provided. Case closed.

And if this is about a player they were trying to tie NW into this Central stuff earlier I know that kid dad personally. He don't turn 19 until next year and had to provide 8 grade docs to prove that. This has Central written all over it. Crabs in a bucket smh.

Like I said.... everything in my prior post is true.

OK. Gotcha.   But, if you could, explain to me how a kid goes from 7th grade to the 9th "in error."

NW will be fine paperwork legit. And no I'm not just saying that because that's my school. Talked to certain people and asked the right questions before this post.  FHSAA has the paperwork they need. That's all I'm going to say about this and come end of December and Jan. This won't be an issue. This same issue was bought up before the playoffs and it was nothing. Now a certain school still reaching trying everything in their power to end NW season lol. This is my last post about this.

Well, case closed i guess.

I'm not the kids parent although I know his dad personally. You have to ask that said school who sent his transcripts to hs instead of the 8th grade school he was going to. Which is not same school he went to for 7th grade.  And also wonder why Central left out the documents NW had to provide to the fshaa? They should've had it since he was just at their school last year right?

Yeah here we go with the hater talk. I’ve been clear what I don’t like about the 305 & won’t ever shy away from it! But don’t make it more than it is, cause then you become the “hate talker!” The  ASSUMPTION came from the media, a few sources, & it got my attention in light of what happened to the Rockets primarily, Western, Norland, Doral etc……

Being its your school, you’ve taken all the comments personally! If it was Aquinas this forum wouldve  fired just as many “assumptions” & prob wouldn’t have heard $*** from you because it wasn’t NW! So the question becomes are Assumptions wrong ONLY because it’s your school!!  Answer that……

You already in your feelings about this I see which is great!  And did you not make an incorrect assumption? And since when what the media says has become the law? An accusation was made again and fshaa had to review it. Then you said it took long enough because your hate for the 305 having another school having forfiet games did not happen.  So the grouchy rebuttal was it took long enough. Lol.  Have a bless day sir and get that hate out your heart.

Assumptions you made are WRING because you believe what the media said about allegations lol. I knew NW clear which i posted weeks ago. I just find it odd that people like you don't let stuff play out and the minute you hear allegations you assume they team guilty because how you feel about the 305 lol... It not healthy being bitter buddy. Let it go.

Feel sorry for ya TN. You’re a hypocrite. Knew you wouldn’t answer my question cause it would convict you. Your judgements & assumptions come from the chip on your shoulder & as much hate as you “accuse” me of. You’re the type of person that if peeps don’t agree with you they’re haters. That hate comes out strong when your love for your school is attacked. You live in a very narrow & near sighted world! I’ve followed you for years & your the same person today as you were years ago….This is your world, don’t say anything negative bout it……Tighten your belt up TN……

You wrote a bunch of bs. Exactly what was your question? And i know you're feelings are hurt about this whole situation.  Let's not deflect were you not wrong for making a bad assumption? Your hate for 305 upset you and now your feelings are hurt and bitter.  Let it go.  I see your post  attacking people and not keeping it football.  You just like the other poster they banned but to a lesser degree...  point is no matter what school that would've been you would've been wrong and posters from that school would have corrected you. I'm just pointing out you made a bad assumption as be now you are pouting and upset. I'm shocked you only called me a hypocrite.  I'm surprised you haven't called me everything but a man of God yet.  Lol.  You jumped with the assumptions be man enough to own you were wrong.

Naw it’s not BS & that bothers you. It’s so true it rings loud……You think you’re in the right by maligning me but  that’s what makes you a hypocrite. The very things you accuse me of you’re guilty of. Thats blindness. But you’d never take the time to take inventory because you might be in error.
if you did take the time to review my posts, & you won’t , I didn’t accuse NW once. My statements were “if” these reports are correct. “If” according to the sources, if they are true, then I made my statements. But ones things for sure, I sure don’t have to apologize to you or the bulls. You might want to take all this energy & direct it towards the Miami Herald where IT ALL CAME FROM OR better yet go to where the LIES ORIGINATED from, right up the street!!!!! Your problem and fight ain’t ever gonna be north of the COUNTY LINE BORDER! Nuff bout you. My stance is firm.

    • TFA was doing way more than just a few slap on the wrist actions.  They are recruiting around the state and haven't stopped.  MNW probably has an outcry because a coach did it out of the kindness of his heart and love for the kids.  Hard to look at that in the same way as TFA which is all business and gives zeros shits about their kids. To be fair, TFA kids give zero shits about their school as it is a mutual business decision.  However, rules are rules and Teddy broke the rules so consequences are due no matter the intent.
    • I know "communism" is a common scare word brought up in the political world just to easily dismiss any ideas of a shared revenue concept.  In the world of sports, uncapped spending creates a great divide in competitiveness and hurts the sport overall.  If we didn't have any type of distributed money from the government, only a few schools could afford to field a team.  Football is incredibly expensive compared to other sports.  The big programs do in fact have a huge budget advantage over the field despite the shared revenue anyway.  The solution to this is actually to do whatever other states are doing to fund their programs.  Georgia coaches make serious money and coaching is a legit career there.  How do they afford it while Florida sucks ass?
    • The question i have is & im being serious when I ask this ; what is the difference between northwestern & the first academy.    because the first academy got hit with one of the harshest punishments ive seen recently for doing basically the same thing. Paying for uber rides & other incentives to the players in need & for a lot of the transfers that transferred to TFA but didn’t have transportation to & from.    & there was NO out cry. Matter fact everyone said TFA got what they deserved. But in MNW case it’s all hell broke loose. Is it because who the head coach is ? Or is it because teddy explained what all the money he spent was for ? …….
    • If we keepin it real. Before last year northwestern was known by name, and last history but, their product on the field was avg at best. Their last title was in 2019 & after that they had a 1 or 2 4-6 or 5-5 seasons after.    & most will say they only won the championship last year because outside of central who had to forfeit 3A and the teams that’s in it is HORRENDOUS.    teddy becoming the head coach of the west single handily had transfers legal and illegal coming in left and right because he’s a former/active nfl player & lets face it in 2025 the kids love to follow the hype.    having a face like teddy on the sidelines automatically guarantee that entire team all types of connects, endorsements, exposure & etc.
    • Nolebull, I'm not sure who you're referring to when you talk about the "jealous" and "disdainful" people.  Bridgewater has put the MNW administrators in between a rock and a hard place.   He basically came right out and said "I've been breaking the rules and if you don't like it, tough sh*t."  The MNW admin folks have two choices:  try to take matters into their own hands in hopes that the FHSAA will go easy on them or, alternatively, put their collective heads into the sand, ignore Bridgewater's public confession and hope that the matter quietly goes away.  Oh, and it ain't going away.
