Week 1 Itinerary

What is everyone's Week 1 intinerary?

I am likely going to brave what appears to be a very stormy and wet 2 days with :

Thursday:  Chaminade-Madonna versus Miami Central @ Traz Powell  -  Interesting aspect to this game, besides the already loaded rosters and improved teams from 2016, is several former Flanagan players will be lining up against one another.

Thursday:  Plan B would be a little closer to home with West Broward @ Plantation - 2 teams that may be a little underrated and could flirt with playoff spots.  If I am not mistaken West Broward is excited about their version of a Wing T this year...

Friday: St. John Bosco @ STA .  Looking forward to this one.  Anytime an out of state team is bold enough to venture into a SFL power in August , you know they are coming confident and they have a squad....

I'm headed up to J-ville for the Cocoa vs Trinity game.

Have STA vs SJB on record, and the following also.

Bartram Trail vs Cartersville, Cocoa plays Bartram.

IMG vs Chandler. Is this the team that will take IMG down?

Other games of interest to me.

AHP vs Bishop Sullivan, Reppin Florida.

MCC vs Buford... ouch, Buford is legit.

Oxbridge vs Archbishop Pa. Should be a close one.

That is a nice slate of games Cat_Scratch.  If the weather is rough there are plenty of options online and on tv as I can see!

Thursday: Orange City University vs Dr. Phillips at DP.

Friday: Apopka vs Ocoee at Ocoee.

Though about making the trip to Lakeland to watch the Osceola/Lake Gibson game, but passed due to weather forecast.

OC University is a huge clash .  Looking forward to see if Dr. P can neutralize Lingard...

Ocoee returns a lot of players this year plus they are home.  Let's see how they hold up versus the always strong Blue Darters!

Tonight - Lake Gibson/Osceola (weather permitting)

Tomorrow night - Lakeland/Manatee

Lake Gibson/Osceola should be a very interesting game.   Lake Gibson looking to prove last year was not a fluke and Osceola trying out a more dynamic offense.

Very nice back to back games.  Lakeland has been awfully low key this year with general media and chatter.....I think they open the season with a statement versus Manatee!

How does Lakeland look? Is your rival Lake Gibson?

Lakeland looks strong on offense. While the big name players are gone, i think there are more options available. And, Kevaris Thomas is more of a two-way threat than previous QB's.

Defense is the big question mark. The did not return much on that side of the ball, but do have some talent.

Lake Gibson is a rival, but they aren't playing each other this year.

I did look at the Lakeland schedule. I thought you guys were rivals... Cocoa and Merritt Island had to stop playing each other. To many people threatening others lives... made sense to stop playing.

I have heard that Lake Gibson took Lakeland off of the schedule due to the players who transferred from LG to Lakeland. Can't confirm that though.....

Makes sense... I also heard that Lakeland got some players from Lake Gibson. LG coach was pissed before, now he gets to take some medicine next time he plays Lakeland.

    • I was actually itching to treat some wager some money on some sports matches that are happening above-board now. I wanted to let you guys identify that I did spot what I ruminate on to be the kindest site in the USA. If you fall short of to get in on the spirit, check it out-moded: https://pokeronline.guru/online-gambling/
    • Perhaps the best RB in Tampa Bay iin 2023 saw his program close, and is looking for a home. If he stays in the area,Venice is a good bet. (Lakeland may be as well).
    • And if that same newsletter asked the Osceola County Sheriff Department, what do you think the response would be? If you asked, members of the Chamber of Commerce? (Essentially a union of businesses) If you asked a group of nurses? If you asked a group of lawyers? Also a union cares about the working conditions of their members, but the working conditions of teachers are the learning conditions of students as well. People are attracted to careers because of the values that come with those careers. Political Parties attract people based on their values. So it shouldn't be surprising that certain professions attract certain people in certain careers. You act as if the principal's first question when we have a 5,000+ teachers shortage in this state is "who do you vote for? And are you a member of the union?"
    • I feel like y'all are always solid so I don't see y'all going no worse than 7-3. Biggest question mark for Cocoa is their O-line since they are only returning 1 and on the defensive side they only return their blue chip edge in their front 7
    • Coach Wiseman, let me just preface this by saying that you were the best HC Sarasota's program has had in the last 20+ years. You brought them from being a perpetual losing program to the doorstep of competing with Venice for a district title and a deep playoff run. SHS will curse the day they fired you now that they are back in a rut. You are a true class act, and nothing will ever convince me otherwise.  Our backfield is certainly sparse right now. We do have Dorian Jones, a rising sophomore runningback whom did considerably well considering his limited playing time last season. Our offense will need an overhaul with the graduation of 3 offensive linemen and almost our entire receiving corps. Our defensive line will be strong with the return of Ke'shawn Vaughn, Elijah Jones, and Asharri Charles. Our linebacking corps graduates virtually everybody but should have at least one bright spot with the return of Ben Zarkawiecz. Our defensive backfield is still a work in progress with the graduation of Lester and Platt. At the moment, we have more question marks than exclamation points. And that's not a good feeling with the kind of competition Venice is going to face.
