Clermont East Ridge isn't on the list.  Niceville hosts them Friday night.  I have no information about them.   Any words that you can share would be appreciated.

East Ridge is typically pretty solid but their HC had to resign for recruiting right before the season started. Their OC (Jason Robinson) took over. He's got some HC experience so they might be ok. Not sure how the kids will respond though.

Thanks, they aren't a team I can ever remember a Niceville team playing.   Should be entertaining regardless.   Wish it was Friday.

I feel like we're going to start seeing a lot more match-ups like that because there are teams near me that I don't remember seeing too often either. I guess that's one positive about the new points system.

Not bad but but as far as South Florida teams, wouldn't put BTW in the top 10 yet, Miramar to me not a top 20 team yet(depending how they play against Chaminade) Norland should be top 20. Mater shouldn't be rank. I wouldn't rank Miami Jackson yet. Disappointed at Ely , they should of dropped out the rankings like south broward. I"ll flip Western with Dillard. Besides that your rankings is Gucci. Oh yea I would put Miami Northwestern num 1 and STA 2.

Yeah but it's hard to win with no drama and the whole situation leaves me lacking confidence that their talent will overcome it

They did okay in their KOC and game 1. Now it was against weak competition, but they won easily. But we will see ... don't know if they are top 100 or not.Probably bottom half of it. I do think they make the playoffs.

I have them just on outside for the moment, i need to see how they progress before putting them back in

East Ridge is not a top 100 team.  I could see them going 8-2 and making the playoffs but other than Niceville they have a very weak schedule.  East Ridge has a really good WR in Justin Watkins.  Was committed to Texas but now down to Alabama and LSU last I heard.  The QB is also decent with some lower offers.  I don't see them stopping Niceville but if they come to play they could score some points.  I got Niceville 42-17.

Here is East Ridge schedule

Colonial, Niceville, Leesburg, Ocoee, Lake Minneola, Hagerty, West Port, Edgewater, Lake Howell, South Lake.  Third best team on schedule might be Edgewater.  They should be favored in all games but Niceville and Hagerty.

I will say in advance That my top 100 rankings have some work to do because I'm having to correct it in coming weeks because i had a bunch of rankings off in the preseason but first here the class rankings

1A top 5

1 Madison

2 Pahokee

3 Baker

4 Port St Joe

5 Hamilton County

Hamilton was top 100 last week and got destroyed 42-6 and now there top 5 of 1A Blountstown would be top 5 before them and several other 1A teams,

And they where three based off what? Not sure why your so high on them. Other then that like this weeks rankings vs the last one.

Well initially i felt they are a team who normally is competitive and was very young last year so i thought they would have potential this year to surprise people but they may not be ready just yet

7A top 10

1 St Thomas Aquinas

2 Lakeland

3 Plant

4 Venice

5 Robert E Lee

6 Columbia

7 Viera

8 Braden River

9 Bartram Trail

10 Buchholz

Not sure I would put Lakeland this high right now. I was hoping to get a better handle on the defense against Manatee.....until the rains came. Now looks like Apopka will be the first test in two weeks. As one of the coaches told me "we may have to win games 45-42". I'm pretty confident in the offense, more so than last year. If the defense can get settled pretty quick, they'll be dangerous. If not, we're in for some shootouts.

8A Sarasota Riverview will play @ Venice this weekend.  After reading about Riverview from a few more knowledgeable people on the SW FL area and doing my own research,  it is highly possible Riverview has the ability this year to make a very competitive game and perhaps pull out the W @ Venice.

Should that happen, I think it is safe to say most on this board (including myself) have overlooked Riverview.  Riverview could prove to be a true sneaky, sleeper that dodged many this summer outside of the SW FL area.

I will be keeping a close eye on that game this Friday evening

    • I was actually itching to treat some wager some money on some sports matches that are happening above-board now. I wanted to let you guys identify that I did spot what I ruminate on to be the kindest site in the USA. If you fall short of to get in on the spirit, check it out-moded: https://pokeronline.guru/online-gambling/
    • Perhaps the best RB in Tampa Bay iin 2023 saw his program close, and is looking for a home. If he stays in the area,Venice is a good bet. (Lakeland may be as well).
    • And if that same newsletter asked the Osceola County Sheriff Department, what do you think the response would be? If you asked, members of the Chamber of Commerce? (Essentially a union of businesses) If you asked a group of nurses? If you asked a group of lawyers? Also a union cares about the working conditions of their members, but the working conditions of teachers are the learning conditions of students as well. People are attracted to careers because of the values that come with those careers. Political Parties attract people based on their values. So it shouldn't be surprising that certain professions attract certain people in certain careers. You act as if the principal's first question when we have a 5,000+ teachers shortage in this state is "who do you vote for? And are you a member of the union?"
    • I feel like y'all are always solid so I don't see y'all going no worse than 7-3. Biggest question mark for Cocoa is their O-line since they are only returning 1 and on the defensive side they only return their blue chip edge in their front 7
    • Coach Wiseman, let me just preface this by saying that you were the best HC Sarasota's program has had in the last 20+ years. You brought them from being a perpetual losing program to the doorstep of competing with Venice for a district title and a deep playoff run. SHS will curse the day they fired you now that they are back in a rut. You are a true class act, and nothing will ever convince me otherwise.  Our backfield is certainly sparse right now. We do have Dorian Jones, a rising sophomore runningback whom did considerably well considering his limited playing time last season. Our offense will need an overhaul with the graduation of 3 offensive linemen and almost our entire receiving corps. Our defensive line will be strong with the return of Ke'shawn Vaughn, Elijah Jones, and Asharri Charles. Our linebacking corps graduates virtually everybody but should have at least one bright spot with the return of Ben Zarkawiecz. Our defensive backfield is still a work in progress with the graduation of Lester and Platt. At the moment, we have more question marks than exclamation points. And that's not a good feeling with the kind of competition Venice is going to face.
