Maxpreps Florida #8 and #10 Squaring off in OT.

I believe the last team to beat Cocoa regular season at Cocoa was 2012 University and to 2011 Miami Central before that.

2014 BTW beat Cocoa at Cocoa in the regional final 14-12.

Hey everyone it's finally back

 

The Florida Top 100, it hasn't been here since post week 2, since i had trouble trying to figure out how i would move teams from previous rankings i started it back up from scratch and without further adieu

When you do these do you feel like team ranked #79 could beat team #83?  I feel like the only two top 100 1A programs are Madison and Pahokee.  Dixie County might be close.  2A Champagnet and University Christian.  The other two are probably not top 100 but could be debated

That is a hard thing when doing these rankings because there are small schools that would lose to these 8a schools but even though baker may not be able to defeat North Miami Beach, baker has been on a roll since day 1 of season so that's why i felt they earned a spot in top 100 but best part with rankings is they change week to week and will all sort itself out at end of the season 

 

But i like the feedback, whats your overall thoughts with the rankings

Lakeland beat Apopka --- small switch needed there.

Also DP was missing its best defensive player and #2 RB against Osceola in the Kickoff Classic and turned it over 3 times, including inside the 20 with about a minute left. The final score of that game should really not determine rankings. If it should then count it as a regular season game.

Osceola was also missing 3 starters.  The game didn't count it was a scrimmage but Osceola has also beaten Lake Gibson and Rockledge.  Rockledge lost to Viera by 2.  Both good teams.  DP has beaten Mainland and OC University.  Both good teams.  They played a KOC that was close that could have went either way.  One team is ranked 7 one is 9.  What is your problem with that?  I actually think both are some what over rated.  I don't think they are top 10 teams in the state.  Probably more in the 15-25 range.

List is good Columbia.  Apopka should be lower ad Pipe mentioned.  I already mentioned the 1A and 2A schools.  

 

3A Lakeland Christian is close.  Tampa Catholic is no where close to top 100 more like 200.  Keep an eye on Kings Academy

 

4A I have no problem with them except I don't think Dunellon is top 100 but it will play out.  Wish they would have played Cocoa but it got cancelled

I can think of a few other teams in SFL that I would put above BA.    BA is not a top 100 team to me....

5A Ponte Vedre way too high.  Just lost to Mendez. Probably shouldn't be ranked.  Belleview???

Ponte  vedra not as strong as last year from what I'm seeing but i want to see how they do against Bolles or Trinity Christian before i completely drop them

 

Belleview if i remember correctly is undefeated and probably gonna win their District

6A Naples?? North Ft Meyers?? probably should be ranked.  escambia and boyd anderson shouldn't be ranked.

Belleview if i remember correctly is undefeated and probably gonna win their District 

bellview lost to Dunellon and a lot of teams will win their district.

When i was ranking i wanted to have a better system so i started by ranking top 10 for each class then i created a 11-25 List for the big school classes, well 30 for 8a but still i went and did that so i hoped i wouldn't miss anyone but i just realized i forgot to list Naples under 6a so that's why i left them off

 

North Fort Myers are on the 6a list but a few spots down from being in top 100

ColumbiaFan, don't let "badbird" intimidate you. Just because he's coached on some of the elite programs in central Florida for over 20yrs shouldn't be a factor...... On second thought, he does have a driver's license and you don't. Oh well, never mind...

I don't really care where any team is ranked to be honest, It can usually be settled on the field in a lot of cases. You know that most coaches disapprove of their players getting on these boards and giving us their thoughts. Anyway, most of the teams listed in your top 25 minus the top 4 may or may not beat each other. 

IMG (black balled by you), STA, AHP, and MC probably don't lose to other teams in the state other than to the other 3 in the top 4. The top 4, IMG included have separated themselves from the rest of the state in my opinion. They are tier 1. 

I would say the next tier is the next 20 teams. Miami NW, Cardinal Gibbons, Venice, BTW, Lee, Armwood, St Augustine, Cocoa, Dr. Phillips, Carol City, Viera, Madison, Osceola, Plant, Southridge, Oxbridge, Chaminade, Vanguard, Vero Beach, and Deerfield Beach. Would all probably be favored over the next level of teams. Doesn't mean they would win all of them. Mainland for example could right the ship at any time and wreck havoc on any team.

Just an opinion.
