Glades Vs Oakleaf

Glades Central has a long way to go to even think about the playoffs. If you seen florida gators offense these past years that's how glades central's offense looks. Can't move the ball gets holding penalties all the time and the play calling is not good, oh and also the qb can't run and the offensive line doesn't block long enough. It's like the offense has no sense of urgency on the field, the only reason university didn't blow them out because the had 5 turnovers and university qb is young so he made a lot of mistakes by throwing interceptions and holding the ball too long. Jessie Hester son #4 is a great athlete but other than him has to step up for the raiders on offense, the running back is good but the offensive line isn't so that limits what he can do and breaking big runs.

Also, if any team has a good o-line and wr's that can block they will beat GC because the defensive line is too small and can't stop the run university running back over a hundred yards rushing. Also, in practice they need to get their wr's using to catching the ball when a defender is on them another reason why they lost to university was too many dropped balls. That's an major issue seems like the wr's was timid and frustrated because university corners and safety's was in they face all night and making them feel the boom every time they attempted the catch the ball.

From what I seen if they don't improve soon then they looking at an record of 4-6  5-5 and no playoffs they just don't have the spark and the talent to beat the top teams unless they improve. Jet is going to get ran out of town again if they don't improve hopefully they can win at oakleaf tomorrow that will look good because of them having to travel so far. Tough games coming up with dwyer, american heritage-delray, clewiston, oxbridge, and pahokee. They really need to win friday to boost morale going into next week vs dwyer at dwyer.

Any raider fans tell me how you feel about the season and how you feel about friday game and how they can improve for the rest of the season. Or anybody can respond to my post and let me know how you feel about the season, players, and the coaches.

I'm not the type of fan who writes a team off of being not in the playoffs after the first game of the season. But I see what you are saying and I agree on some parts yes Glades Central must improve on offense especially against teams that you have mentioned. This game tomorrow will show how GC would respond after that L if they come out the gates up by 14 or more in the first half and dominant the second half. GC has to keep that mentality up if they want to be champions again. I hope Hester can turn it around soon like you said he gonna get ran out of town again welcome to the board appreciate your post and keep on posting!

Great candid write up @ Raider14 .   We always appreciate different views and opinions from The Muck.  After seeing some film and boxscores/stats from the game, you are spot on withe your thoughts.

Keep in mind that the University School RB McIntosh may be the best RB that GC sees all season.  McIntosh had 211 rushing yards on 27 carries.    The University School secondary is solid as well.  I think the Week 2 game versus Oakleaf will be much more productive offensively for GC.

Do you feel University School is improved from last year?

Like I've said before, GC's Achilles heal will be both lines. Those positions must improves quickly. Bad part is all of them are inexperienced. I saw Oakleaf's RB on film from Friday and GC better be ready for him. Hester won't be driven out of town. GC actually has a Principal now that sees the big picture.

I Agree with everything u said bro I believe that the raider faithful has gotten so spoiled with national rankings and multiple championships that they expect nothing less so anything less then dominant performances by the raiders get magnified and frowned upon which is shouldn't glades central isn't the only talented team out here with speed so their gonna take some lumps and loses and in that comes improvement so with that being said let's see how they respond tomorrow

Well not going to lie, we played a sloppy game. However, but our defense beat Oakleaf 12-13. Keep  in mind Oakleaf didn't score but one touchdown and that was  87 yard return (very impressive by Keyshawn King) and two field goals. The Raider D-line and linebackers are not to be slept on. They shout Oakleaf's back field down!! Raider 14 explain that. I'm not sure how good they are but the where in front of use an we won.

Counting Martin County, this is the 3rd team we shout out in the 2nd half. As much as I hate to brag on a lost, The veteran University School offense could not score in the second half...but neither could we. The same went for oakleaf. I will say this Glades Central offense is what is the issue right now. I seen some WR's step it up, but our Young QB has a lot to learn, as well as the offensive line because our running game wasn't that great either that night.

As for these next tough adversaries you speak off,

Dwyer: Is going to be interesting. Glades Central's offense will needs to be more productive to top the panther if not expect another close game.

Clewiston: I haven't got the chance to see Clewiston yet ,but its personal! We got a score to settle with them!

Oxbridge:....If it was any team that worries me on Glades Central schedule,Oxbridge Academy is that team! A win over this team give  gives the Raiders ton of momentum. Although, the odds are not in there favor; I don't think Glades Central Cares and neither do I!

American Heritage -Delray: Another grudge team for the Raiders. This match up will be show if Glades Central has learned anything

Pahokee: ITS GOING TO BE A WAR!!!!!

University School gained size that's all.

    • Perhaps the best RB in Tampa Bay iin 2023 saw his program close, and is looking for a home. If he stays in the area,Venice is a good bet. (Lakeland may be as well).
    • And if that same newsletter asked the Osceola County Sheriff Department, what do you think the response would be? If you asked, members of the Chamber of Commerce? (Essentially a union of businesses) If you asked a group of nurses? If you asked a group of lawyers? Also a union cares about the working conditions of their members, but the working conditions of teachers are the learning conditions of students as well. People are attracted to careers because of the values that come with those careers. Political Parties attract people based on their values. So it shouldn't be surprising that certain professions attract certain people in certain careers. You act as if the principal's first question when we have a 5,000+ teachers shortage in this state is "who do you vote for? And are you a member of the union?"
    • I feel like y'all are always solid so I don't see y'all going no worse than 7-3. Biggest question mark for Cocoa is their O-line since they are only returning 1 and on the defensive side they only return their blue chip edge in their front 7
    • Coach Wiseman, let me just preface this by saying that you were the best HC Sarasota's program has had in the last 20+ years. You brought them from being a perpetual losing program to the doorstep of competing with Venice for a district title and a deep playoff run. SHS will curse the day they fired you now that they are back in a rut. You are a true class act, and nothing will ever convince me otherwise.  Our backfield is certainly sparse right now. We do have Dorian Jones, a rising sophomore runningback whom did considerably well considering his limited playing time last season. Our offense will need an overhaul with the graduation of 3 offensive linemen and almost our entire receiving corps. Our defensive line will be strong with the return of Ke'shawn Vaughn, Elijah Jones, and Asharri Charles. Our linebacking corps graduates virtually everybody but should have at least one bright spot with the return of Ben Zarkawiecz. Our defensive backfield is still a work in progress with the graduation of Lester and Platt. At the moment, we have more question marks than exclamation points. And that's not a good feeling with the kind of competition Venice is going to face.
    • It's possible that they find their stride by week 5, but at the moment we just don't have the on-paper talent to compete with teams like Miami NW, IMG National, Cocoa, or Bishop Verot. If Venice can find a way to go 7-3 with that schedule I would be happy
