After Making Their Debut in year 1 of the Broward Vs USA Showcase, My Panthers Have Been invited Back & Will Play The Dr.Philips Panthers At Home, Primetime 8pm on Friday Night. 
 

THE MATCHUP: if my memory serves me correctly @nolebull813 this will be the first time these programs have faced off in football. This game is gonna be HUGE!. Out of county opponent, AT HOME, 8pm Start, National showcase, and lastly On this day Dillard will Be Debuting Their renovated stadium, Which Will have brand new turf, Dillard panthers in both end zones & a panthers painted at the 50 yard line. 
 

Because of the New stadium renovations, Otis Gray memorial stadium Will Also be The Host For A Few Other Teams in The broward Vs USA Showcase.

On Thursday August, 21st At 4:00pm You Will Have PiPER VS PEACHTREE RIDGE. (AT DILLARD)
 

At 8:00pm You Will Have Monarch Vs Jacksonville Bolles. 
 

On Friday August, 22nd At 4:00pm You Will Have West Broward Vs Corner Canyon(UT) At Dillard. 
 

And At 8:00pm For The Primetime Matchup You Will Have DR.PHILLIPS @ DILLARD.

That it is. I’ve heard about them. But I don’t know anything about them except they’re from the Orlando area by universal studios lol. 
 

I know back in the day their girls basketball team use to be very good, but that’s about it.

I don't know much about Dr. Phillips but I know in 2024 they were one win away from the state game. Dr. Phillips lost to Lake Mary. Prior to this they won a state title in 2017 against Atlantic ending the season 13-2.

Okay okay. This is gonna be a Great Game, And a Great Test To Start the Year.

Dr. Phillips has five final four appearances, two state runner ups and one state title over the last 15 years.

 

During that time they’ve also made the regional championship game 8 times out of 15.

 

2024 - Final Four

2018 - Elite 8

2017 - State Champion

2016 - State Runner Up

2015 - Elite 8

2014 - Elite 8

2012 - Final Four

2010 - State Runner Up

no, they also lost most of their skilled offensive players.  Pipe Dreams can tell you about what they have coming back more than me.  They will be well coached and play physical no matter what they have coming back.

Got to look at their game films. And also see how do they fair against south fl opponents or if they only play central Florida opponents.

      Drive Pink in Ft Lauderdale compares well to FIU except FIU is a football stadium so that gives it the nod.  In addition the parking and concessions are much better.  It may have been improved by now but the Drive Pink unpaved parking lot was a sand pit.  The large FIU parking lot grass is the golf course type.  It’s not perfect but is an improvement.  FIU concessions are much better.  One side of the stadium has more variety but the other is fine as well.  A negative that FIU shares with all the other stadiums is there aren’t restaurants and stores that are walking distance.  The good news is with games at 12:30 and 7:30 there are plenty of places nearby to drive to and easily make it back to the night game in time. BTW, The Villages has and is building restaurants and stores that are within walking distance.  Since Jambun has let the cat out of the bag we might have this to look forward to.

      MarkECannon, thanks for the compliment. My board name pretty much sums it up, just like everyone else here, @imjustafan2. I've been a fan since the mid '70s, when my older brother played, then late '70s when I started high school and was a trainer for the four years I was there. I've continued to cheer and support my high school, Cocoa, ever since. Even after I moved to Tennessee 16 years ago. Florida High School football is the best, for better or worse, you gotta love it. I've droned on long enough.

      Keep your eye on the Villages as a possible host for all of the FHSAA State Championship games in the future.
