Broward Vs USA Showcase “Do it or Do it Not Count”

Help me out football family , because I was up under the impression that for the last few years since BROWARD started the BROWARD vs USA weekend , my understanding was all games always took place week 1. Which mean the results go on each team record wether they won or lost. 
 

but I was just speaking to a “Trusted Source” because I was asking him who do we have for KOC, and he said Dr.Philips, but on the broward vs USA showcase website it has us playing Dr.Philips in the showcase. 
 

so I guess my question is , is this showcase week 1 of the regular season, or is it KOC for all teams, unless they’re playing a team from out of state.

Because when Dillard played rock creek out of Baltimore In 2022 in the showcase. That went on our record. @nolebull813 @FBGUY1989

Because when Dillard played rock creek out of Baltimore In 2022 in the showcase. That went on our record. @nolebull813 @FBGUY1989 

I thought that the classic happened same week of KOC but counted towards record due to it being against an out of state opponent, just like when we have teams play the week of KOC out of state with those games counting. So since it's against an in-state opponent they may just treat those type of games in the classic as KOC games. Unless those games counted last year

Ok so the showcase always happen during the KOC week ? If so that means the regular season starts August 29tj correct ? 
 

if that’s the case then that make sense why our game In 2022 counted against our record because rock creek was a out of state opponent.

Let's stick with 2025 and FHSAA teams.  Preseason Kickoff Classic Games must be played on August 14-16 (i.e. Week 0).  The first regular season playing date (Week 1) is August 21.  Below is the schedule for the Broward County National Showcase.  Any game played on or after August 21 counts as a regular season game for FHSAA teams.

August 21 – Piper (Florida) vs. Peachtree Ridge (Georgia), 4 p.m. at Dillard HS

August 21 – Archbishop McCarthy (Florida) at Cardinal Gibbons (Florida), 7 p.m.

August 21 – Monarch (Florida) vs. Bolles School (Florida), 8 p.m. at Dillard HS

August 22 – Corner Canyon (Utah) vs. West Broward (Florida), 4 p.m. at Dillard HS

August 22 – American Heritage (Plantation, Florida) vs. St. Joseph’s Prep (Pennsylvania), 7 p.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas HS

August 22 – Dr. Phillips (Florida) at Dillard (Florida), 8 p.m.

August 23 – Mater Dei (California) at St. Thomas Aquinas (Florida), 4 p.m.

August 23 – Chaminade-Madonna (Florida) vs. St. Frances Academy (Maryland), 8 p.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas HS

From my understanding I've always thought KOC games didn't count towards your record and if you win that game and go undefeated that gives you 16-0 record at the end of the season. I know in 2022 Northwestern played Jones and won but it didn't count towards their season. However, I know Chaminade is playing West Boca Raton on August 14th and I'm sure West Boca Raton wants to beat Chaminade and have it on their schedule.

I believe August 21st starts the regular season.

From what i remember they only count against your record if playing OOS or against an OOS team. Basically just have an extra bye week

Pretty much what I gathered above. Kick off classic games are to be played by no later then aug 15. 
 

being that the broward vs USA showcase starts August 21st-23rd, that means that every game being played on that week is officially your week 1 game, which will go on your record.

I asked this before but has anyone heard when tickets for the Saturday games at STA will go on sale?  I emailed one of the directors but never got a response.

Kickoff classics never counted toward your record. They were used as the “11th game” so you can knock the rust off before starting the season. 
 

If you traveled out of state during the KoC week, you forfeited your “11th game” and that game counted towards your 10 game regular season record. 
 

However if the OOS team came to Florida, then the game didn’t count and was considered a preseason game. 
 

But I think now the FHSAA just said flat out that any game under any circumstance during the preseason week doesn’t count toward your record

Also I think Florida over the last few years has moved the season up a week so a game being so early like August 21st doesn’t look right. Lol. But it is

lol right. I think the kick off class is rules are still the same, I think the biggest question mark was, was the broward vs USA showcase during kickoff classic week or the week after which would be week 1 

and the answer I’m getting is the KOC is the week before the broward vs USA showcase which will be aug 13-15 & the showcase will be the 21-23

Don’t matter to me either way, long as we will. But for SOS purposes when it comes to playoff seeding I want the game to count.

The Broward event was never during the preseason week. It always counted as week 1 games

Exactly. That’s what I always assumed. That’s why when I was asking one of the sources connected to the football team who do we have for KOC ; And he said Dr.philips. That threw me through a loop because I’m already knowing we play Dr.philips in the showcase, which made me pause. Like hold up since when did the showcase take place on the week of KOC. 
 

so I still don’t know who we play for KOC , it has went from norland, to dr.Philips.
