fhsaa clown show.

How so?   To my knowledge the FHSAA hasn't done anything other than possibly opening up an investigation.   Bridgewater's suspension was imposed on him by the Northwestern administration -- no doubt to get out ahead of whatever the FHSAA might do.

Don't take this as a defense of the FHSAA, but I just don't think they've really done anything yet in this matter to warrant criticism.

I have no doubt that Bridgewater's heart is in the right place and it is admirable that he was willing to provide financial assistance to the kids.  The problem is that he went about it the wrong way and then had the temerity to publicize what he had done.

Now, the real question is this:   does Bridgewater step in as the new QB2, knocking Trask down to QB3?  :P

Good read. Shows you how slimy the FHSAA is for punishing Bridgewater for helping kids avoid taking dangerous and sometimes deadly walks by getting them a ride.

If a kid was starving, I assume you can’t buy him a meal. Because some piece of $hit from the FHSAA might hammer the school.

“It’s all for the kids I guess”

again, Florida has the most nonsensical hypocritical rules in the world. You can have a private boarding school give a kid free ride to play football. But a coach can’t buy a kid a meal or give him a ride at a public school. Ridiculous. The whole system should be blown up. Separate the schools into public and private classes. Same recruiting rules apply to everyone. That would help to fix things. Also, larger districts would help reduce bad playoff results. And no NIL for children. Talk about corruption?

The high school football coaches hate the "no benefits" rule . . . until they lose a player or two to some coach/team that's willing to provide a little more benefits than they've been providing.   It's a slippery slope . . . just like NIL was when it first got approved.   Once that camel's nose gets into the tent, it's going to be very hard to keep him out completely.

In my humble opinion, you can't put blame the FHSAA for this one . . . unless you want to blame them for possibly getting ready to enforce a black-and-white rule.

If the coaches don't like the rule, they need to take it up with their administration who can then take it up with the FHSAA.  If you don't like the rule, then do what you can to change it.  But, you can't announce to the world on social media that you're breaking a rule and then use the "but the rule sucks" defense to avoid being punished.
