What should stand out to people who criticize schools who receive transfers is how widespread the transfers are. It is sheer fantasy to think the transfer world is just a small handful of evildoers who take advantage of the downtrodden. The truth is players are moving around, all over the place. And schools whose teams won't even be very good get a bunch of transfers. Ex-Gator Buck Gurley went 5-5 at Ocoee last year, yet still got six (6) players off Apopka's team.

Thats why i always say the word transfer doesn’t mean “good” or “upgrade”

Why can't there be a "fair play" rule where the number of transfers in is capped?  If you exceed this number, you are ineligible for the FHSAA post season. It seems simple enough.  Either that or an open division where if you exceed the transfer cap, you are automatically put into the open division with all the other all-star teams.

Problem is I don’t think head coaches can stop a student from transferring into the school, and it would be pretty crappy that a player wouldn’t be allowed to be apart of the team if that team hit the quota. Especially if these transfers aren’t even college prospects.

Lake Howell got 11 transfers this off season alone. Are they an “all star team”??

Obviously not.  However, with a cap these teams would be more choosy about who they bring in.  If you aren't going to the playoffs then it doesn't matter anyway.  You're head is in the sand if you don't think there isn't recruiting going on.  I saw the texts to the star players on my son's teams the past four years.  It was blatant recruiting.

Because we aren't a society that limits individual opportunities based on a desire to engineer certain outcomes in the aggregate. If more players wanted to transfer than space permits under your plan, how do we determine which ones are granted permission to transfer or not?

That’s a staggering number.

Lake Mary had 25 transfer IN!!!!!!!

Lake Brantley had 15 move in

Edgewater 12, and Lake Howell 11

Central Florida is getting hit hard

This sounds very political and you love to go political.  No this is not communism or socialism.  Dude, engineering an outcome is *exactly* what concentrating all of the talent onto a single team is versus a completely random outcome every year if transfer rules were put into place.  You have completely contradicted yourself here.  No one, and I mean no one, would be prevented from transferring.  The only rule is a team that benefits from excessive (key word here) transfers would have to play against other engineered teams in the playoffs, i.e. an open division, in the spirit of fair play.  There are wayyyy more teams who lose in the transfer game than the few who benefit.  What is wrong with having an open division?  I am willing to open my mind if you present a strong enough case here.

The players who join forces to make "all-star" teams were free to choose where they wanted to play. No authority figure/body made them do anything. And, as has been made clear, receiving a bunch of transfers hardly ensures winning.

I support an open division.

If Lake Howell with their minimum 11 transfers doesn’t wreck shop this year, then I don’t want to hear anything about transfers again. Because then it would come down to the talent of the transfer. Since South Florida has the majority of the high profile players in general, he kids who transfers there are gonna make a much more bigger impact positive and negative.

So then the argument wouldn’t be the amount of transfers being the problem (Lake Howell will squash that myth). It will be the quality. And how can you police the quality?

I only support an open division if there are max 5 classes because if you have an open division with 7-8 classes there are gonna be a lot of horrible playoff brackets with teams being called champs who are glorified 2nd round losers. And that would be an utter disgrace
