I think we're going. It's our 2nd trip to Traz Powell, but does anyone have any good local eating recommendations? Last year we ate at a Cuban place, but it was in Coral Gables. It doesn't have to be close to the stadium, but just in the general area. I think MNW comes away with a win here, but it should be interesting.

MNW is gonna have to play a perfect game. Can’t shoot themselves in the foot with stupid penalties. Can’t make special teams blunders.

OLu is expertly coached and is just as good if not better this year than they were last year, and they beat a better and more talented team than MNW. It was at home though. Maybe if MNW gets some homecooking. Lol.

I really hope MNW wins because this might be the only shot South Florida has

I just hope MNW isn’t reading their own press clippings about how great they are for beating a JV team like Lakeland. OLu is a different animal.

worst thing you can do before a huge game is play some dud team to inflate your ego. There won’t be any pick-6’s. There won’t be any breakdowns on the line. There won’t be any coaching blunders. The holes will close fast, and there will be dudes waiting for you at the point of attack.

MNW better buckle up!!!

Chill bro they not all that. Last year I agree they was solid but MNW would've beat em last year too. They definitely cant come out there bs'ing but OLu isn't anything special but a Trinity school from Cali.

Top 15 in the country. Beat St Frances Academy last year. One of the top 5 most talented teams in America.

Lutheran lost alot last year.  Probably still have good trenches.  Should be a better game than against Lakeland last week. If 8 gets most of the reps at qb then NW offense will be too much to handle.

This game could mirror Bolles/Moanrch. Hope it doesn’t. Really need MNW to win to avoid a disastrous weekend

If Northwestern still had Teddy as the coach would you still feel the same way about this game.

No only because his impact was so great, and the preparation and consistency they would have had would be key.

I wouldn’t read into dominating Lakeland. This will be Lakeland’s worst team in over 20 years. They are historically bad. Auburndale is a junior varsity team who doesn’t know how to play the game of football and they dropped 21 points on Lakeland.

I just hope MNW doesn’t get to big headed for beating such a horrible team in the KoC.

Having attended the 2 games at Dillard yesterday I don’t think S Fla was offering anywhere near their best.  Both Piper and Monarch started their games well then reality took over.  Would definitively give Monarch the edge over Piper.

The Orange, Orange, Orange . . Brown, Brown, Brown Piper Bengals struggled badly in the oppressive heat.  The 2nd half had many stoppages due to Piper players cramping.  To their credit they continued to play hard at least through the 3rd quarter in which I ducked out in search of air conditioning.

Monarch was led by 6’3” 220 lb senior QB Florentino Lopez.  He played a valiant game running and passing.  My criticism of Monarch is that they ran too many called running plays for Lopez.  He’s more of a power runner so he doesn’t shy from contact. I hate to use the word warrior for a football player but that’s what describes him for this performance.  Unfortunately, his receivers dropped many of his passes.  I was surprised that they didn’t target Jabarree Riggins, who is committed to Missouri, more often.  Just like the earlier game I left after the third quarter.

Bolles was as good as advertised.  The only possible weakness could be the kicking game.  Wide receiver, Naheem Burroughs, is an incredible talent. His touchdown catch and run was one of the best yard after catches you’ll see all year.  Anybody that knows me knows I am a FSU booster.  I have to admit I was a little bit in shock after that play knowing he is committed to Clemson. The real star of the night was sophomore running back Xander Edwards.  Bolles made it a point to feed him the ball consistently.  Needless to say he was very impressive. He has a strong build at 6’ 1”.  He looks like a power runner with what appears to be elite speed.

I have tickets to both games at Dillard today.  At this point, I probably will not go to the early game due to the extreme heat. You can call me soft if you want to but as of now it’s a no go. I still plan to be go to the Dillard/Dr. Phillips game tonight.

The first game will be a running clock. A wasted blowout. I would not spend a second in the heat watching that garbage.

The problem is the event organizers have gone down the toilet. They don’t know how to create matchups. They just pick anyone who will agree and hock these blowout games that are far from competitive.

there are probably 8 better Broward teams they could have picked that are not in the event right now better than Piper.
And Monarch surprised me. I picked monarch to win, but I had Bolles ranked and Monarch unranked. I know it sounds stupid, but I thought that the game would be close and the crooked Broward refs would be the difference. Lol

Yeah Lutheran on the receiving end.  Not sure what you seen or haven't seen from NW to be really big on Lutheran. But hey we will see tomorrow.

Hey I’m gonna be MNW’s biggest fan. I want them to win. I just want them to be cautious about reading their press clippings. Lol. Lakeland is poo poo. The good thing is MNW did to Lakeland what good teams do to bad ones. Destroy them.

I think MNW wins.

OLu is top 15 in the country. One of the highest ranked teams MNW will ever play. This isn’t some push over nobody. I hope MNW doesn’t have that mindset that since they are not named Mater Dei or St John Bosco that they will be an easy win. This game will take everything MNW has to win.

I'm pretty certain they aren't ranked this year (and haven't been nationally ranked since 2006), but they play a rugged schedule and aren't intimidated by anyone. Like most private institutions, they are well financed, well coached, and have the means to bring in talent every year. I think MNW will handle them, but yeah, these guys are probably in a different universe from the Lakeland team I saw last Saturday.

Yeah they have to lock in tomorrow night. Hopefully they will.
