I hear ya Nolebull.  What do you think of the Cardinal Mooney @ Cherry Creek matchup?  After speaking to someone who knows Cherry Creek pretty well I felt confident in taking Mooney.

After last week and this thread I might be developing an inferiority complex as a Florida high school football fan.  I moved to Boca Raton recently.  These current events have me considering establishing local psychiatric and psychologic providers if this doesn’t reverse itself.

I like Cardinal Mooney’s chances a lot. This is one of those rare ones that looks to be a competitive, even match up on paper. I’m going with Mooney because it’s in Florida and they have much more athletes.

Yeah, except it became a big money grab by the private schools at the expense of public schools where the private schools just jacked their tuition up so it still nearly the same out of pocket cost as before the voucher program.  Not only that, small private schools have popped up everywhere to get a piece of this pie.  This is essentially how Rise Preparatory Academy makes its money.  They sign high-end athletes on scholarship and then charge the state for the voucher.  Meanwhile, public schools get less and less money each year.  We had an emergency meeting in Pinellas County last month to deal with an unexpected $9M cut from the budget from the state... all the while no cuts to the voucher program (google search shows they actually increased funding to the voucher program).  It's insane and infuriating.

But if that money is for each and every student, then what is the difference in the school they attend? That money is specifically for that one student regardless of the school they go to. they are just using the voucher program to attend a different school.

taxpayers are on the hook for about $10K per kid. If we are paying $10K for that kid to go to school, then what’s the big deal if the kid chooses a school that best fits their needs? 
 

one of the biggest differences from public to private is the bullying. Most private schools have way less tolerance for bullying than public schools do.

How come ScoreStream has Spruce Creek up 13-0 over Avon in the 1st quarter?

West Boca up 21-7 2nd half just started.  West Boca went up 21-0 in 1st quarter then lost their focus.

I’m watching the game. Neither team looks good. Spruce got 2 questionable calls in their favor the first score. Avon is driving and looks to score soon.

Avon just scored. They will assert their dominance. I’ve seen plenty of times where a team get some early breaks only for the better team to fly by them in a blowout.

Week 1 i seen in Georgia Rome went up 21-0 against Creekside in the 1st quarter only for Creekside to outscore them 48-7 the rest of the way and win 48-28

Wow this is embarrassing. Spruce had a coach being carried away off the field because he was running his mouth so much and the ref threw a 15 yard flag on him. For stuff he said when he was being dragged off. A coach!!

I haven’t seen Creek play yet (will later this year) but know they have some areas that they can improve in. They got some questionable calls last year that allowed them to advance in the playoffs further than they should have but when it comes down to big name games, they usually aren’t ready to step it up for 4 quarters
