They will most likely go 0-10 for the first time since I can even remember...The Head Coach does not want to even be there. He was asked by the committee to be HC, he sat on the committee. They didn't like the applicants so they asked him but he really did not want to take over the position.

I believe I understand why he is doing this but I don't know if I should even say...I think he is going to sacrifice himself for another person...I can explain more in detail but going to hold off to see what I believe is going to happen does happen...

It's not that he doesn't want to be there that Hardee will most likely go 0-10, they are unbelievably young. I think both QBs are 9th graders and there are less than 4-5 seniors on the team...I take this as a good sign fir the future..

I guess your correct, 50/50 shot on Desoto and AP...

I don't ever recall a Hardee as young as this. Derren always had the correct rotation that I recall. It's like they are starting all over on the rotation IDK or kids just don't want to play anymore!!

Hardee beat Moore Haven 26-20 last week (Friday, September 19) to pick up the first win of the season. This win guarantees Hardee won't go winless for the 2025 season, the last time Hardee went winless was 52 years ago in 1973. I attended the game and it was pretty exciting, after seeing how we played the first four games I thought Moore Haven might running clocked us, but I was pleasantly surprised, we actually played much better than we did in the first four games. I was expecting Moore Haven to beat Hardee pretty soundly, I never imagined the game would be close, let alone Hardee winning. The game was tied 20-20 late in the 4th Quarter and Hardee scored a touchdown off a fake punt attempt as time expired to win the game 26-20 and avoid going into overtime. This year's team is really young and inexperience, many of the players are freshmen and sophomores, it takes time and patience to build up players that young, if this year's squad stay together I think Hardee could possibly have a good team in the next two or three years.

It's all about the turnovers.  In the losses,  Hardee turned the ball over a lot. In the win, not nearly as much. We will see if they got the turnover problem fixed or not.  As mentioned above,  this team has a lot of sophomores and freshmen players and not many jrs or srs.

Most likely the youngest team Hardee has field in our lifetime...I don't ever recall a team this young... It's a good thing...

Hardee won friday night. So at least 1-9 now. Young teams are tough, hopefully todays mentality they will stick it out and become a good team in thee future and not just jump ship.

Nowhere to go. They are the only school in the county. Lol.

That didn't stop a bunch of players from transferring to Fort Meade and Sebring a couple of years ago. Yes, there's only one school in the county, but that doesn't prevent players from transferring to Fort Meade or Sebring if they want to. If this year's squad stays together, I think Hardee could possibly have a good team in the next couple of years, but it's a different story if a bunch of players decide to transfer to Fort Meade or Sebring.

That's the real goal. Get these kids to stick it out and proving to them that transferring somewhere else isn't all that.  If we can keep them here, I don't see why we can't be back to competing with some of the bigger schools like we use to.

County lines don’t mean a thing when you are transferring in Florida.

Exactly, we did have a big back with a future as a 9th & 10th grader, but he decided to transfer to Dr. Phillips last year as a junior.  Now as a senior, he is their lead RB (Zion Matthews) and scored 5 rushing TD's and one thru the air last Friday vs Olympia HS in their victory.   No doubt we could've benefit having him the last 2 years.  In addition, our starting QB the past 2 years also transferred to DP this year although we don't miss him nearly as much.  Point is, you are correct in county lines mean nothing.

That gets to another issue, economics in this town.  Many people who live here commute elsewhere for work.  Its just as easy to take your son or daughter to the school closer to work as keeping them here. A bigger problem is people moving away for work.  Not to digress on the subject but we desperately need to attract people to move here.

And what was bad was the Hardee HC was black and the kids who transferred were hollering "racism" was part of the reason they transferred. The transfers were of African descent.  It was all about a certain person not getting the HC position who ran his mouth off too much. He has ousted himself as a radical communist believe it or not. That person was an outstanding WR fir Hardee years ago, very respectable until he went to college and was brainwashed.. I'm not going to name names but I know the name who was behind it. Colleges are nothing more than propagandist machines for radicals. 7 out of 10 kids that graduate college cannot even name the three branches of government!!

I agree if this squad sticks together then the next 2-3 years will look good.

Whenever you have football ppl in Desoto County saying to be looking for Hardee in a couple of years then they know something is up.

I'm sitting out this year thanks to a total knee replacement on Aug 4. I was planning of going back to the games but my knee deterioration was just too much. What is sad is my knee issues were caused by my lumbar spine issues. Take care of your bodies while young, if you get injured while young you will suffer whenever you get older.

Anyway it will get better bank on it. Curious did SilverKing and the others come over after Flavarsity shut down?

You can thank the county commissioners for this. They pretty much told Publix they didn't want them here while the people of the county disagreed. The commissioners rather bank with big phosphate than building the county. I warned ppl over and over about Hardee lakes, an old phosphate pit being deadly and sure enough somebody had the water tested and it came back positive with chemicals in those lakes. My wife's uncle and his daughter went fishing there a lot, ate the fish out of those lakes and both at the same time ended up with colorectal cancer and both now live GI bags. What are the chances a father and daughter getting the same disease like that?

We don't need big phosphate, man was able to grow food for thousands of years. Commissioners don't care they see it as $$ rolling in.

Hardee is ran down its lands being destroyed by big phosphate. If you destroy the lands then the country will never grow..

Damn Teddy and NW should have thought about that

Hello my name is John Doe and I am the starting linebacker at Better Opportunity High School in Scholarship, Florida.  My family actually lives 2 counties away which requires my mother to drive me to and from school over 100 miles a day.  We would not be able to do this without the wonderful people at Racetrac!   Not only do they provide us with fuel for our car but a career opportunity for my mother so she doesn’t have to make two round trips a day.  Racetrac even gives me a slice of pizza and an energy drink everyday so I can be my best in the classroom and the football field.  Thank you Racetrac for helping me to follow my dreams for a brighter future.

Yeah, phosphate is DIRTY business.  Just wait until they start using radioactive waste byproducts in road construction.  I'm sure you know but for everyone else, this has been approved by the state.  Point is, greed isn't just limited to Hardee County.

Thanks for this alert as I had certainly not heard about it prior.  After a bit of research, EPA has only approved a pilot program in FL on private property belonging to the Mosaic Group who is pushing this idea.  Will have to watch to see if it gains much traction.   Greed isn't just limited to FL either as I recall a huge infrastructure package (for building roads) passed by Congress a couple of decades ago touting "SHOVEL READY" projects that didn't materialize with the money ending up going to .....??????

Its was in our local paper about Hardee Lakes being contaminated. I wish I had the youtube link but it was posted on a WELL KNOWN youtuber. Somebody told him about the lakes and sure enough he had the water tested.

    • Take the 32 very best teams in Florida over the past four years, teams that are state champions or regional champions of this type. Those are the teams in 6A. Teams that were consistently 2nd or 3rd round teams; they become your 5A teams. Every two years, we would promote/relegate in football. You would take the 4 worst teams in 6A and send them down (teams 28-32), and we would move up the 4 very best teams from 5A or teams (33-36). So I am not sure how good teams would be promoted over elite teams. We are talking the 4 worst out of 32, and the 4 best of 32. So we aren't talking one good season will promote you up.  And yes, large schools could move all the way down to 1A, but they are moving down to 1A because they aren't good. Take one of the worst 4A teams in the state (Jacksonville Englewood). They lost to Paxon, Wolfson, and Stanton. Three solely IB schools. Englewood isn't good. Do you really think the average 1A school would be scared to play them because they are a 4A or complain because they had to play them? Remember the purpose of promotion and relegation is get good schools playing good schools and bad schools playing bad schools. As teams diminish and rise, allowing them to face similar types of teams.
    • Here are the number of privates schools in the 32-team playoff brackets (16 teams in Rural): 7A - 1 6A - 0 5A - 1 4A - 4 3A - 3 Rural - 0 So the mathematical odds favor public schools winning 6 classifications at a minimum.  Public schools are underperforming if they only win 5 championships, all things being equal between public and private schools.  And if all things were equal, the odds of STA winning 7 straight championships is roughly 1 in 2.8 trillion.  Shocker... all things are not equal.  Private schools may not be stealing titles, but they are continually defying the odds, either by random luck or some systemic advantage.
    • They should take @LAZ rankings and @Joshua Wilson rankings and combine them for one super epic ranking. Instead of a room full of zoo animals throwing shit at the wall.
    • Sounds great but what would end up happening is that good but not elite program gets punished for winning and likewise,  as soon as a larger school gets moved down and wins, the others will cry foul.
    • The officiating is what really stood out to me with this game, it wasnt that there was a bang/bang type play that everyone can debate forever about, the deal with the clock was significant in as far as deciding the eventual outcome. Then last night as I watched the Raines/Northwestern game, the 1st thought that came to me was "hmmmm, I know the boyz in Miami like putting money down on these High School games, Im kinda wondering to myself......what player(s) had money bags left at their lockers before the game??????" just sayin
