the patriots will come in with a solid D as usual but their offense leaves a lot to be desired. They’re avg just under 13 points per game.

Dillard comes in 4-0 they have outscored their opponents through 4 games 220-6 , as they look to push their record to (5-0). The band battle between Both bands will be electric as always. Dillard is also known for having the biggest homecoming HBCU “high school edition” tailgate in Florida. So far we have over 50 classes that has a tent for the homecoming tailgait which starts at 8am until 6pm.

We saw Miramar back in the spring against Palmetto. It was just a scrimmage, but I'd guess Dillard will win handily. I have several questions about this...

* Is this really a Saturday game?

* What type of crowd is expected? Looks like plenty of seats on Google Earth, but how early would we need to get there to get a seat if we decide to go?

* Do they have food trucks or can you recommend any good local spots for supper?

* Any suggestions for traffic in OR out?

* Google Earth shows a nice looking pond behind the stadium. For future reference, do they allow fishing there?

We will see if we can work this game in. Snapper's looks a lot like Hook Fish and Chicken here in The Fort and Pahokee. Not that it's a bad thing, but we eat there a couple of times a month and will hit up something else. I don't think this game will be close, but sounds like a big party atmosphere and crowd. That's not something we get to see very often down here.

Come out bro, it’s an experience you will never forget. If you’re not feeling snappers we have a wok n wings very good wings. Then you have jade flower. Awesome Chinese spot. Then you have wimbos loaded bake potato restaurant. Best loaded potato’s you’ll ever have, you can customize it however you want. Shrimp steak, rib tips etc.

our tailgating is bar none the best for a high school in the state. And the halftime show is a must see.

Thanks for the food tips. Unless something comes up, we'll be there and try to snag a seat on the home side so we can see the bands.

Not sure if Miramar band will perform because it's homecoming so usually the home school takes up the entire halftime but nether or less you should have a good time.

MAN OH MAN!!! What a hell of a game. First half didn’t go the way we wanted Miramar came out DESPERATE! Fighting for their season , before this game I said Miramar defense was extremely solid and boy did they NOT disappoint. Their trenches are HUGE! They ate us up with the run designs in the first half.

dillard first drive ended up in a turnover on downs at Miramar 10 yard line, after that Miramar had the momentum, throughout the game Miramar had 10 batted down balls. YES 10!! 3 of those passes would have been touchdowns if not batted down. But like I told the coaching staff either back Chico (THE QB) up or put him under center.

My panthers was down 17-7 in the 4th qt with 7 min to go. 7 minutes left to either GIVE UP OR FIGHT! 7 min to either Tap into your championship DNA or show the world you don’t have it.

and 2 4th and 1 stops later & some huge plays made down the stretch my panthers sit here (5-0)! WOW JUST WOW!!

Great game! Very nice facility, great band, and good crowd. Nice comeback by Dillard. Miramar had a chance to put the game away up 17-7 but decided to get cute by going to the air after having a first down deep in Dillard territory, and Dillard made them pay for it. Then they compounded that by going for it on 4th and 1 from their own 29 late in the game. I would have punted that away and put it in the hands of the defense. Dillard made the stop and got into the end zone and that was it. The traffic this afternoon wasn't bad at all and we stopped at Fran's Chicken Haven in Boca for an early supper before going on. Had some good conversation while waiting for the gate to open with a Dillard alum who was in from Texas. Really enjoyed it, and we'll be back again someday.

I started receiving texts about this game just before 7pm.  We were thinking about driving to Ft Lauderdale to support our friend Dillardboyz.  We decided to take a wait and see approach keeping our car keys near.  Then we saw that Dillard had made the score 17-14 so we decided to continue to monitor the situation and stay ready just in case.  Much to our relief the final score came across that the Dillard Panthers had saved the night.  Shheew!  We trust that Dillardboyz was able to walk out of Otis Gray Jr Memorial Stadium on his own two feet.  Since JDHoss was on site we were confident the situation was under control.

Why you didn’t text me bro I was there since the tailgate , I would’ve walked you through and gave you some Dillard history.

in regards to this game Dillard showed me a lot tonight facing a desperate team whose giving everything they have tonight to save their own season, getting punched in the mouth for the first time all year & faced with a decision on do you Lay down or do you FIGHT & PREVAIL. This is exactly how the playoffs gonna be, anyone can look like world beaters when they haven’t been tested. And tonight we got our test.

we had 10 balls down on offense 3 of those would’ve went for TDS, Miramar is very big in the trenches and made it known they were running their way to a possible victory, they only had 50 yards passing so they knew they couldn’t beat us in the air , what a HELL OF A GAME

Well, I didn't have your number. Next time we come to Dillard, we'll exchange numbers here beforehand. The Dillard alum we talked to in line was probably around my age, so I'd guess he graduated sometime in the mid 70's.

    • Just a terrific high school football game from start to finish, with one of the most bizarre officiating sequences I've ever seen. PBC and FPC were tied 14-14 at the half. PBC completely shut the FPC running game down, but QB Drew LaPlante kept the chains moving with the short and intermediate passing game and hit WR Marquan Burgess across the middle and he ran away from the Bronco secondary for a 67 yard TD to put the Cobras up 28-21 early in the 4th. Bronco QB Chase Routson led them on a long drive, and with 1:26 to go, hit WR Jayden St Fort for an 18 yard TD to make it 28-27. I thought for sure it would go to OT, but the snap was just a little off and the holder took a split second longer to get it down, throwing the timing off and the kicker pushed it wide right to keep it at 28-27. On the onside kick attempt, a PBC defender CLEARLY touched the football before it went 10 yards, and the flag came out immediately by the closest official. PBC recovered the ball around midfield, but the football was correctly awarded to FPC at the 47 where it was first touched by the kid from PBC. The FPC offense and the PBC defense took the field and and were approaching the LOS, when PBC used a timeout, which I thought was odd because I was sure they only had 2, and would need both to have even a slim shot to get the football back. That's when the fun started. After a lengthy discussion, the officials changed their minds, and said that it was PBC's football...but not at the point where it was recovered. They moved the football back to the PBC 35 with no apparent signal of a penalty. I've seen penalties waved off in high school, but I have NEVER seen a call like that reversed after that length of time. After all that, PBC moved down to FG range, but a holding call and a sack left them with the football at the FPC 43 with 4 seconds to go. Routson's pass on the Hail Mary was all you could ask for, and he had 2 WR going up for it in a crowd of FPC defensive backs, and after it was tipped, a Cobra DB came away with it to preserve the win. FPC will host Doc Phillips next week.  We also saw a FIT game on Thursday night with @MarkECannon at Doc Garcia as the Bulldogs hosted the Sarasota Sailors. It was another highly entertaining back and forth game that was tied 21-21 after one quarter, and still a 41-33 game with Doc Garcia leading early in the 4th, but Sarasota's defense was gassed and Garcia started gashing them on the ground to come away with a 55-33 win. Still, I loved getting an extra game in this week, and love the FIT setup. If those kids and coaches want to keep playing and coaching, why not? On a side note, Palm Beach Central had a QB that I saw play as a freshman and sophomore named Cade Butler. I wondered whatever became of him, as he was no longer at PBC after the Routson kid transferred from Boca to PBC a couple of years ago. It turns out that Butler is the QB at Doc Garcia now. He was MONEY on Thursday night, and I'd guess was well over 300 yards passing with 4 TD.
    • You're not kidding, on the Matchups. I was about to do a coin toss to pick a couple of them.
    • It's flawed because the system isn't doing what it claimed to do  Going further back into the past only deludes the product even more. The fhsaa thought moving away from metro suburban and returning to student enrollment as the only measure of classifications did exactly what i said it would do and look at the playoff results last week if you don't believe me. Pretty sure the average margin of victory was over 30 points for the entire state of Florida  Seeding should absolutely be earned we just need a better formula for it
    • Wrong, we are the #3 SEED in our Region while South Lake is the #2 SEED.  Seeding by the FHSAA is extremely flawed as almost everyone on this forum agrees.  That determines home field advantage and your earlier point of a lousy team hosting if you alternate every year is moot if you followed Perspectives view which I agree with is that for the opening round games the DISTRICT CHAMP should host.   That will make that possibility minimal.   Yes, I would like transparency, but in the end if I could see how they arrived at their mistakes it wouldn't make me feel any better.
    • I absolutely love watching Dillard, MNW and Central bands and their dance teams.  High skill and entertainment.
