Exactly and a school like Sebring probably doesn't have anything to loose and probably not making the playoffs.

A lot of close misses for Sebring this year.  This is actually their 3rd win and they are the only team that has beat Martin County and now Glades Central.  5 losses were to CCC, Lakeland, Port Charlotte, Booker and Lake Wales.  Port Charlotte, Booker and Lake Wales all came down to the last possession.

So this isn’t nearly as big of an upset as it may seem.  The LAZ index had GC winning by 1.

I attended this game with JDHoss.  This was one of those games where you wondered if either team really wanted to win.  The game had its share of penalties, turnovers, overthrown passes, etc.  By the way, has anyone else wondered if the referees are being paid by the number of flags thrown this year.  Not a criticism, just an observation Jambun (don’t bother asking for details).

The game was tied at 7 for most of the game.  Then, finally, both teams scored by long TD passes in the last few minutes.  Unfortunately for GC they missed their PAT with about 20 seconds left.  The attempt appeared out of sync with much of the team looking like they were not ready for the snap. The GC coaches tried to console the placekicker because he was beside himself.  It’s going to be a tough day at school for him today.  After the game, you could hear probable students asking what his name is.  BTW, for the most part and it being a Thursday night, it was a pretty laid back crowd, not the intensely engaged one I had always read and heard about.

Finally, both teams obviously played good defense.  IMO, the GC offense is too committed to the spread and passing too much.  With their huge left tackle, Javarii Luckas, GC never ran behind him.  I was astonished.  He looked impressive and I couldn’t believe that was not a part of the game plan.  He  is committed to the Gators.  He appears to be a good get for them.  The Sebring offense was more balanced.

One last thing, Dixie Fried Chicken was very good and inexpensive.  JDHoss knows where to eat.

Wasn't at the game but heard what happened we missed the XP after we scored the TD. It's wasn't our night.

I was hoping they would go for two and the win, but everything on that PAT attempt looked rushed, and it threw the timing off. Unless they were out of timeouts, they should have used one and settled everybody down.

@muckboy561 family what the helly happen tonight nost definitely didnt see this coming

Sebring came in at 2-5, with three of those 5 being one score games to good teams. I knew it was going to be a close one, but too many penalties and turnovers for Glades Central to overcome.

I've had lots of experience at finding good restaurants. When I was working and would sometimes have to travel with one or more coworkers, it was always my responsibility to line up spots for food.

As for the game, there were too many penalties and turnovers for Glades Central to overcome, and yeah, they need more balance in that offense, or at the very least, use more slants and quick hitch passes. The QB has a good arm, but made some awful decisions when dropping back in the pocket, like the one when they had a 1st down at midfield and he was pressured, scrambled backwards, and instead of just taking the sack for a 10 yard loss,  tried to get rid of it and wound up blindly throwing it behind him and putting them in a 2nd and 41. They were really lucky the kid from Sebring couldn't get on the football before it rolled out of bounds.

What's confusing tho ,IF it was rushed ; Why?. It's not like youre trying to run out there with 20 seconds left and no time outs to try and get a kickoff. You just scored a TD so the clock had already stopped. You theoretically had all the time in the world to get off the perfect XP

You never know given their strength of schedule.  It may come down to what Sebring does against Lake Gibson as they are district foes along with Lakeland.  The 2nd place spot is still up for grabs.  Not that it makes a difference but Sebring did manage to score against Lakeland where Lake Gibson did not.  That may not bode well for the Braves, lol.

You know that I am going to ask for details. Were most of the fouls procedural penalties or judgement calls?

Yeah, if they were out of timeouts (I was thinking they had one left), you need to take the delay of game penalty just to let everyone settle down.

That was their kickers first miss of the season.

This was the classic “TRAP GAME”…Last week the avenged their only losses last season against Bishop Verot and clinched their district. This week was a 2-5 team they beat last year, and some players/fans have started chirping about Muck Bowl. Maybe they weren’t as buttoned up this week in practice and a short week, was a recipe for an upset.

GC only score 14 points last week and they’ve been getting away from the running game (and the best player #5). Hopefully they keep trying to pass against Pahokee. They do have a D1 caliber WR #15, A. Crawford (freshman).

Why thank you Jambun.  Coming from you I consider that a great compliment.

So you think they were looking ahead to pahokee ?

Somewhat, but I don’t think they respected this opponent like they should’ve and it cost them. They got Kings Academy next week, but some have started trash talking already
