And they haven’t been able to win it’s not like there are any beast in 8a like 6A whose been stopping them all this time

the thing I noticing with 8a is while 8a doesent have the top heavy teams 6a has I realized 8a probably is a deeper class overall and you can see that in my top 100, currently 8a has had 20+ in every week of the top 100 while only 6a and 7a have had 20+ for at least a single week in the rankings

teams like dr phillips 2016 and Osceola  2015 have stopped them last 2 years, I'm not sure who did it the previous years

It’s crazy because just hearing the name of these up north schools they don’t sound like football schools lol no offense but they sound like a school that would b in the nationals with their debate team lol

both those teams got to state lol

Dr Phillips took Miami Southridge to the limit

in 2014 and 2015 Osceola had the unfortunate task of facing broward juggernauts at state

in 2014 they faced STA in 7a finals

in 2015 they faced a loaded Flanagan team in 8a finals

Dr. Phillips might be in a debate team but Osceola would suck at debate.

In the early late 80’s/ 90’s it was Evans, Manatee, Southeast, etc. Mid 90’s it was Southridge (Davis brother years) Killan,NW, Carol City, Dillard, etc.

In the late 90’s previous coach(s) went the route of soft scheduling to ensure good good attendance in my opinion, and combined with the opening of nearby Sebastian River, Vero’s program suffered as a result.

Vero draws large home crowds, but they are not an “educated” crowd. They don’t know the difference between nearby teams and Aquinas. They just want Vero to win, so that’s what they delivered.

Coach Janikowski seems to be trying to bring in tougher teams again so hopefully that will get Vero over their playoff hump.

I hope we can play vero again, we had good games in 90s with them

might get 1 a year lol

Maybe I am thinking back to my Jamaica days. Back then more than a few football (soccer) and cricket players were Rhodes Scholars. One of them captained a team that won the National Championship my senior year in high school. Two others went on to play on a Columbia University team that lost a National Title game against Virginia. One of the two, Kingsley Chin, is now a renowned Orthopedic Surgeon in the USA.

Only won it once, 1981

Vero Beach was a powerhouse in the late 70's. Might of only won one state title but they were in top class and could challenge anyone in the southeastern US.  Merritt Island would battle them every year for control of the region. Toughest rivalry for MI during their heyday.

Not to be confused with Viera who is a new program, 11-12 years old now. Coach Kevin Mays from Palm Bay staff that won state turned around program quickly. Went undefeated in his 2nd year and has been building on it ever since. Four straight district titles and made it to state 2 years ago.

    • I was actually itching to treat some wager some money on some sports matches that are happening above-board now. I wanted to let you guys identify that I did spot what I ruminate on to be the kindest site in the USA. If you fall short of to get in on the spirit, check it out-moded: https://pokeronline.guru/online-gambling/
    • Perhaps the best RB in Tampa Bay iin 2023 saw his program close, and is looking for a home. If he stays in the area,Venice is a good bet. (Lakeland may be as well).
    • And if that same newsletter asked the Osceola County Sheriff Department, what do you think the response would be? If you asked, members of the Chamber of Commerce? (Essentially a union of businesses) If you asked a group of nurses? If you asked a group of lawyers? Also a union cares about the working conditions of their members, but the working conditions of teachers are the learning conditions of students as well. People are attracted to careers because of the values that come with those careers. Political Parties attract people based on their values. So it shouldn't be surprising that certain professions attract certain people in certain careers. You act as if the principal's first question when we have a 5,000+ teachers shortage in this state is "who do you vote for? And are you a member of the union?"
    • I feel like y'all are always solid so I don't see y'all going no worse than 7-3. Biggest question mark for Cocoa is their O-line since they are only returning 1 and on the defensive side they only return their blue chip edge in their front 7
    • Coach Wiseman, let me just preface this by saying that you were the best HC Sarasota's program has had in the last 20+ years. You brought them from being a perpetual losing program to the doorstep of competing with Venice for a district title and a deep playoff run. SHS will curse the day they fired you now that they are back in a rut. You are a true class act, and nothing will ever convince me otherwise.  Our backfield is certainly sparse right now. We do have Dorian Jones, a rising sophomore runningback whom did considerably well considering his limited playing time last season. Our offense will need an overhaul with the graduation of 3 offensive linemen and almost our entire receiving corps. Our defensive line will be strong with the return of Ke'shawn Vaughn, Elijah Jones, and Asharri Charles. Our linebacking corps graduates virtually everybody but should have at least one bright spot with the return of Ben Zarkawiecz. Our defensive backfield is still a work in progress with the graduation of Lester and Platt. At the moment, we have more question marks than exclamation points. And that's not a good feeling with the kind of competition Venice is going to face.
