Thought we would've moved up actually

New district Foes: Cardinal Gibbons, Calvary Christian, North Broward prep, pompano beach, stranaha.

Team to Beat in 3A - Miami central in 3A 16.

Glades central is also in 3A 14 so dillard could also face the raiders in a round 1 or round 2 playoff matchup.

The raiders and panthers have had alot of intense matchups in the past, so this is something to also keep a eye on next year. @muckboy561. LETS GO PANTHERS!!!

I like this but I have a feeling others won't if us Miami folks can get a sweep. This could possibly be 2019 all over again when we had four schools from Miami go to states and win.

Dillardboyz,

Dillard fans need to implore your AD and Head Coach to beef up the Panthers out of district schedule.  It can only help your on field performance and keep people from saying Dillard didn’t play anybody.  Except for Cardinal Gibbons I don’t see any other teams in the district that would improve your status.  I saw Calvary Christian and North Broward play this year.  Dillard should handle both of them easily.

I agree with you. I thought Dillard would at least make to American Heritage but loosing in the first round to Plantation wasn't expected at all.

I like it to. Just have to go out there and execute.

Honestly. Plantation was the least team out of that district i wanted to play. Especially in the first round. Records aside thats a huge, nasty hated rival. That specific matchup is always tough and down to the wire.

Add 7 of our key players transferring to plantation b4 the start of this season,  I knew facing them would be tough as hell.

I agree with you. We got 5 district games , so hopefully the 5 OOD games or atleast 3 of them are against formidable opponents.

Really ?? So in that instant do that make our district smaller or will more teams be added ?

Most likely just smaller, but slight chance they adjust things. I've heard of about 6 other Broward public schools calling around interested in going independnt, so who knows.

What are the other schools considering going independent?

    • Yeah in the 70’s-90’s the debate will most likely be between the top 2 largest class state champs
    • 1976 - Godby HS went 14-0, defeated ledgendary Gene Cox, Leon Lions for the 1st time in school history in its last game of the regular season. Beat a Carol City Team, (that would come back the next year to win the 1977 state title), 21-15 in Lakeland, FL for the 1976 4A title. Two members of that Godby team (Sammy Knight, Chris Hobbs) would then lead FAMU to a upset win over the University of Miami. 1978 - Meritt Island - Beat Carl Madison coached (going to see the name Carl Madison alot through out the 80's),Pine Forrest for the 4A state Title 20-16 and would go on to be repeat state champs winning the 1979 state 4A state title as well, seeing Pine Forrest once again in the Finals 1979 - Merritt Island - Beat Pine Forrest 19-14 1980 - Argument could be made that 3A state Champ Gainesville HS was the states best, as they defeated Titusville on Titusville's home field 21-15, but in the end Carl Madison's (who we'll talk about again in the 80's), Tate HS has to be considered the state best destorying Miami Columbus HS 35-7! 1981 - Again 3A would again have to be where the state's best team played. Palatka after struggling in its 1st round game went on to dominate evenutally winning the state title 42-2 over Suncoast. Unlike Vero Beach (which won the 4A state itle that year), Palatka was loaded with star power, with 2 of its players eventually playing in the NFL (John L Williams, and Jarvis Williams) 1982 - Going 3A once again as Titusville would shutout 3 of its 4 playoff opponents, winning the state title over Osceola 33-0 1983 - 4A Manatee High School goes 14-0 for its 1st state title and the beginning of a dynasty through out the 80's and into the early 90's   more later.......
    • No, but I need to buy a red tie very soon!
    • Congratulations Jambun!  That is a great honor for your Panthers.  Do you own a red tie?
    • Hello MarkECannon, did you notice the Two-Time Defending Stanley Cup Champion Florida Panthers visiting the White House and presenting the Great President Trump with rings, a stick, and a #47 Jersey?! A Great Team and a Great President make for a GREAT event!
