Five biggest upsets from the first round of the playoffs

I went through looking for the five biggest upsets from the playoffs. I think I did a pretty good job nailing down the ones that sent a shock through the state.

Western 20, Deerfield Beach 17 (Class 8A); Fleming Island 31, Robert E. Lee 26

 

I would say these two should have made it.  Deerfield Beach was the pick for a lot of people to win 8A.  Lee was probably most peoples pick to make it out of 7A Region 1 and to the state semifinals.  Good list

Deerfield was not even on my list to win 8A. I consider 8A wide open and the way Columbus has played has me looking at them coming out of the South. 

Lee I thought had a chance, but the bad side of Lee showed up. I considered the game, but I had to get a lower classification game on that list which the Florida High/Fort White was that one. I didn't even see that coming.

I agree that those two were very good candidates for upset of the week, particularly Deerfield Beach losing to Western. This was Western's first ever playoff win. Not as shocked by Lee, as they had stumbled a bit as the season progressed.

Miami High beating Palmetto is not that much of an upset to me and alot of people in Dade county. I think Miami High and Columbus the 2 best teams in their class down here.. I like Miami High to beat Southridge this week.
