Ok so we got a kid from Columbia it not like he is the first this spring or last from what I hear but not sure how it went to us beating Madison which last time we lost by 4 you lost by how many this past season? and Schuck vs Thomas thing neither won a title that's  what happen.

Watch what happens this year buddy

Or better yet make the drive up to lake City for it and I'll personally cover your expenses for the night (ticket, parking, consessions)

Ok so we didn't win a title

We 7a you all were 1a

Much better competition and you know this

One guy set records and went to 4th round on a team that in the first 3 playoff games lead a offense to put up a average of over 40 points in 3 rounds and lead a offense that had over 6k yards during the season

Other guy played like a game or 2 at qb before being moved to a different position

There is no debate who the better qb was then and with the current weapons on this Columbia team there will be no debate when the season is over

I do ask this though

Outside of Blair how many of these Columbia guys that transferred to Fort White were contributers at Columbia?

Serious question because reporter doesn't seem to offically report on transfers and coaches won't tell me transfer details because they know I'll post it on here lol

I've heard through the grapevine that things are looking ugly for Flanagan right now

Same....

It can't get much uglier though at this point.  Saw "Standford" Samuels was still listed as HC  on Maxpreps page and roster looks about 2 years old. Seems like the entire infrastructure all the way up has lost appreciation for the 5 year run ...Well, they always have a elite baseball program to tend to I guess.

When one is making decisions while  building or trying to maintain a program,  one should never underestimate or under-appreciate ties to the community such as local youth leagues etc...

Is it fair to say when a mass amount of players and coaches leave a program with perhaps what they feel was bad taste or poor decisions they have the ability to severely pay back or punish in a subtle way (directly or indirectly)?

Yep. And there's so much talent in the optimist programs out that way (PPO, West Pines, Pasadena) but now that Devin Bush/Samuels are gone, they're going to go back to when they were mediocre, or probably worse than that.

As hard as it is for us football junkies to fathom, some school administrators probably have much bigger problems now than their football program, ie budget shortfalls and teacher layoffs around the country.  As a football community, we must look petty and entitled to those outside our world who are struggling to survive.  ...bickering and backstabbing when things don't go our way.

True.  But you can say that about all professions, forms of entertainment and aspects of life. Many communities may look entitled to the outside world.  For me personally it would be hard to call  FL public school coaches (HC and assistants) who are basically volunteers -entitled.  As far as coaches go....being entitled usually does not mean working sometimes 8  hours a day,  some working 10 months a year, sometimes being outdoors over 100 degrees-  generally all for a little extra gas and meal money.  In fact, many public school coaches may actually be closer to the "struggling to survive" category vs the "entitled" category of society. At least fiscally anyway.

Underpaid and underappreciated IMO.

...preaching to the choir, friend.  Perception is everything and I don't think the general public, some of whom would be happy to see the game go away, understand all the details.  They read and see this party-like atmosphere going on in hs football and some probably think it is a big party.  ...coaches behaving like teenagers on social media and"underprivileged" kids flashing pictures of themselves full of bling like rock stars.

..folks acting like they got a little too much time on their hands, like mama used to say

ColumbiaHighFan2017class, can you confirm :

2019 DB Ahmad Williams transferred from Winter Park to Columbia High

2020  OLB/DE/SS Le'Vontae Camiel transferred from JeffersonCounty to Columbia High

Winter Park to Columbia would be one heck of a move. Must have family in Columbia. Can't see that happening otherwise.

I'll tell you what.   These guys are no slouches either.  Seen their film and Camiel supposedly has a offer from Cincinatti.

If these made the move to Columbia without ColumbiaHighFan2017Class updating and reporting it.....it could be worse then Spygate and Watergate put together.  The fact that Columbia snuck these players in and him not referencing it.  If that is the case.  That sneaky, conniving SOB.

There is no reason he could not mention it in this string after being excited about and knowing Columbia's 2018 roster better then his 2015 Venice @ Columbia playoff media guide hidden under his bed.

I'm calling for an investigation of ColumbiaHighFans2017Class  knowledge of this matter!!!

You tell me...

You tell all of us how two clear cut starters for Columbia showed upon the 2018 roster without you noticing them or doing your due diligence of posting on the Transfer thread?

You have no problem staying updated on other transfers around the state, right?

Well i would have reported the camiel transfer had i knew what school he came from lol

No one told me, all i could find out was he was from Tallahassee lol

As for Ahmad i thought i mentioned it in a different thread lol

Usually Columbia gets transfers but the transfers are usually 9th graders who played middle school in surrounding counties (usually Suwannee or Hamilton County) and they come over to here and play High School here

Some end up staying all 4 years and some hop back in forth but until i am told a name i don't take notice lol

And for some reason unless it's a huge transfer the Lake City Reporter doesn't mention any transfers,  why i don't know

Maybe the coaches don't like that stuff being public knowledge or maybe LCR just never ask

Heres a rundown on how this stuff generally gets past me

Coaches won't tell me about transfers if i ask

If i ask parents they don't know about any transfers

I ask LCR and they may occasionally know about it but most of the time they aren't sure of any transfers

I ask other players and they don't know

And i check Twitter and no one says anything about transfers

Looks like the Columbia football team is not the only underperformer in Lake City:rolleyes:

If he don't already have a offer he probably will by end of season

I'm still looking at like 3-4 more guys at Columbia who may get a offer by the end of the season

Columbia trying to win the offer trophy.  Jones won it last year.

    • Okay, how about that STA vs. Ida Baker matchup in your first round?  Does your analogy extend to South Florida slappies?  My opinion is simply that no one (except CoachGraham, apparently) would be interested in the 1 vs. 512, 2 vs. 511, and 200 other mismatches such a format would produce, regardless of geography.  But I could be wrong.  And now I'm thinking I should have skipped college.
    • Complaining about North Florida slappies losing to South Florida powers is like someone graduating high school complaining that companies are only hiring college graduates and not them. And then a company saying ok to make it fair, we will open division and only hire high school graduates.
    • First I want to express my apologies for my absence the last few months. Without going into much detail I have had some personal life struggles I have been dealing with on top of figuring out the direction to take FloridaHSFootball.com in. Things have finally settled out some over the last few weeks although I am not completely out of the woods just yet. Some of the decisions about what direction to take FloridaHSFootball.com have been forming over this time while I went through things. Part of me wondered if it was time to go, but really it is not at all. Thankfully, a loyal supporter near me in Gainesville decided to put their mouth where their money is and did a little investing and today FloridaHSFootball.com launched its first-ever Mobile App. With that said it comes with the sunset of the MVP Membership Subscriptions and thus FloridaHSFootball.com will be 100% free for the first time in a while. This comes as needing to get the clearances with Apple and Google and the current subscription platform we have is not syncing with Apple's system nor with the App itself. Its best we go in this direction to grow fans again and being able to put them facing forward with an app on their phone going forward. Here are the download links for the apps: iOS (Apple): https://apps.apple.com/us/app/floridahsfootball-com/id6477621728 Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.floridahsfootball.app&hl=en_US&gl=US   For now the forums will not be available directly in the app. At some point I maybe looking at changing the whole forum software that could eventually integrate into the app. It will be a while before this happens so things will go on as they are here.   I also apologize for any of the spam and troll accounts that have managed to find their way around the security protocols in setting up new accounts. It seems every day these things find ways to pass through control systems. I am going to be looking at getting this solved and will keep an eye on things here as we go along.   Please feel free to reach out to me if you all need anything, want to chat or have any suggestions.   -- Josh
