Lol I get wanting to beat STA, but these Venice refs lol.  Disgrace.

After some of the games early in the year I would say those officials were not as bad as I had seen at Venice games. Look back at some of the max preps scoreboard and you will see heavy penalties in Venice games. Both sides in fact. I'm one sided so its hard to say but which plays were the most blatant  ?

You started a thread titled "STA" 12 hours ago and it's 8 pages long.

STA is an obsession on this board.

And you're one of it's top consumers.

Of course it's 8 pages

You respond to the same quotes 5 times and inflate your post count

Did Columbiafan just clown someone on padding post counts.  :D

At least i only use one reply to a quote

And when did you join that board

I watch most of the game last night only 2 calls I would can suspect .. The one with the punt return when they called a flag on a crack back... Not a block in the back but a crack back and the penalty with the screen play.. Plus the last td Venice scored on was clearly a false start on the whole right side of the line lol.... Good game by Venice...

Isn't crackback blocks now a penalty?

The screen was the one that got me.   Timing was just bad.   Venice played excellent though.   Rooting for them to win it all.

Because I think I am the only Venice guy who posts I will say this, I don't care much about the outside of talk and whatever the kids on the field play the game. The coaches coach on the field and help the players.

The STA team that was at Venice last night is MUCH different than the STA that Venice saw last year. That is not anything more than a FACT.

I will also say the exact same thing about Venice. Not the same team as last year.

say this -- say that of recruiting and whatever set aside, Venice 27 STA 20.

Its a win. I think I said the exact same thing last year after a loss. The sun will still come up tomorrow, and this 1 game does not define a lifetime.

I watched the play probably should have been called a block in the back. While that game was loud and the speed at which it happened maybe the ref called it from an angle that it looked like a crack back. I guess now its all irrelevant. Not like we have replay in high school nor that play be considered for a replay.

With that said, I don't think that 1 specific play cost STA the game. A bunch of things happened that was their downfall.

It was a good game to watch. I thought STA was smaller in size than usual and looked very sloppy in the passing game. STA QB was very off that night. Venice played sound defense, and grinding it out on offense. STA had the edge in special teams in my opinion. STA looks like a totally different team from last year when they aren't loaded with D-1 players in every single position. I think the game against IMG helped them a lot in preparation for STA.

But they are loaded.. Take a look at their roster again..

    • Just wait till spring is over and the top RB in the area will take his talent to 1 Indian Ave.
    • This will be an interesting story to follow.  Venice has no proven RB headed in to spring which will be a first for a long time.  They have produced several Dairy Farmers player of the years in that position.  They also will have a massive offensive line with 2 three year starters who return as well as some stud young kids.  They will probably average around 6'4 295 on the line which is huge for Venice standards.  I just wonder if this will change before the start of the season.  I still fell like someone will show up.
    • Are you still talking to me??  Thought I was pretty clear for you not to waste your breath on this subject matter, but somehow you are missing the point.  Teacher unions have limited power in FL because the candidates they overwhelming support keep losing.  If they had won, the teacher union vote had a lot to do with it and would be wielding that power.  Osceola county which isn't a GOP stronghold during the past two national elections had the journalism students for the OHS monthly newsletter (Kowboy Jake) interview the faculty as to their political leanings.  A sample of about 30 teachers that were interviewed were voting as follows:  25 D vs 5 R.  Enough said.
    • You missed the point of my union post. Teacher unions in strong union states have power. Florida unions have zero. They cant strike and the school board can implement a contract without the unions approval. Florida unions are not preventing any raise in Florida. The state has attacked a straw man here.
