Blountstown/Madison final

I have no idea Jbaby. Does it really matter? The charter school began in 2013 magically Madison's enrollment began to drop and by 2015 they were 1A. Without the charter school my guess is Madison would have lost to Raines in the 4A semis or played Cocoa for the ship in 4A this year. The same as y'all did the previous 15 years. Nothing has changed except the enrollment at Madison which allowed them to compete in 1A.

You all should play us in baseball and softball

We played Trenton in both last year and got a good test out of it

Heck in softball we ended their undefeated start to the season

Do you really think every school official in Madison, would agree to that just for football. Man your conspiracy theories are a little out there.

You do realize if it drops in 1 sport it drops in all

It wouldn't be just football, they would be able to lower classifications in every sport

I got to hand it to them it's smart

If only Columbia would stop giving the distractions in the school so many chances we could drop 200 off enrollment

Then there's a Christian academy and a private academy in Lake City and neither have athletics

We could drop enrollment by using them,  by time we done we could be 4a or 5a

I can't blame Madison County for using a loop hole to help their sports and frankly i wish sometimes we would do the same

Just don't act like you all are the same 1a as schools like Hawthorne with 200 students

But I'm not taking away from Madison accomplishments

You all earned the win

you could have dropped to 1A this year and still not won a state title in your lifetime

It wouldn't have taken us 3 years to win 1a

Our 2015 team would have obliterated 1a that year

maxpreps has Trenton ranked higher than you in 2015.

here is another prediction

not sure you would have obliterated anything

here is another prediction[2015] Columbia (Lake City, FL) 38, [2015] Trenton (FL) 35

Yeah because that's what happens when you finish with a loss vs when one finishes with a undefeated state championship

Of course Trenton was gonna be ranked higher

Trenton was good that year but you got to look at matchups

Columbia had 3 wrs with 4.4 or better speed wise

Over 5000 yards of total offense

We also had around 40-50 sacks

Over 20 turnovers

Do you really think Trenton with a roster of like 35 could go a full game with that team?

In 2015 you lost to a 6-4 Escambia team that didn't make the playoffs and then got crushed by a 4 loss Viera team in the state finals.  They turned around and got crushed by STA and this wasn't 2014 STA.  I will take Trenton

Both those teams had speed which was what hurt us

I don't recall Trenton having 4.3 speed on that team

We faced a team similar to Trenton and came 1 td from getting a running clock on them

    • Coach Wiseman, let me just preface this by saying that you were the best HC Sarasota's program has had in the last 20+ years. You brought them from being a perpetual losing program to the doorstep of competing with Venice for a district title and a deep playoff run. SHS will curse the day they fired you now that they are back in a rut. You are a true class act, and nothing will ever convince me otherwise.  Our backfield is certainly sparse right now. We do have Dorian Jones, a rising sophomore runningback whom did considerably well considering his limited playing time last season. Our offense will need an overhaul with the graduation of 3 offensive linemen and almost our entire receiving corps. Our defensive line will be strong with the return of Ke'shawn Vaughn, Elijah Jones, and Asharri Charles. Our linebacking corps graduates virtually everybody but should have at least one bright spot with the return of Ben Zarkawiecz. Our defensive backfield is still a work in progress with the graduation of Lester and Platt. At the moment, we have more question marks than exclamation points. And that's not a good feeling with the kind of competition Venice is going to face.
    • It's possible that they find their stride by week 5, but at the moment we just don't have the on-paper talent to compete with teams like Miami NW, IMG National, Cocoa, or Bishop Verot. If Venice can find a way to go 7-3 with that schedule I would be happy

    • Just wait till spring is over and the top RB in the area will take his talent to 1 Indian Ave.
    • This will be an interesting story to follow.  Venice has no proven RB headed in to spring which will be a first for a long time.  They have produced several Dairy Farmers player of the years in that position.  They also will have a massive offensive line with 2 three year starters who return as well as some stud young kids.  They will probably average around 6'4 295 on the line which is huge for Venice standards.  I just wonder if this will change before the start of the season.  I still fell like someone will show up.
