Yup it’s a go...

Central gonna have a pretty stacked schedule? Of course they have one of the hardest districts in the nation along with an away game at St. Johns. Now they added STA.

All must see games if central is even remotely themselves

I agree completely. I'm really hoping they are. Also apparently STA is playing Dematha week 1

Really!? I hope we can get a dematha team. That mud stomped Miami central a few years ago ...but probably not STA is very smart they probably have scouted these same teams 2 years ago to know what they will be losing or possibly gaining  but we will see.

That's true. I'm hoping Central isn't falling off they usually reload. Dematha usually reloads too. I really thought they had some top notch underclassmen a season or 2 ago. I may be wrong tho

Central Im guessing is down this year its no way STA schedule this game if Central is reloading

Then again they probably thought the samething when they lost to BTW and when they got lucky placement for the winning touchdown against BTW. STA is gonna have to make a statement in all of their games after how last year went.

Central has a senior QB returning, I think 2 really good RBs (down from 5 from last year) and I'd imagine the other athletes aren't bad either. If they are "down" they aren't going to be to the point where STA should expect to roll them. Granted, STA's reputation precedes them as far as why people would think Central is down. They really try to kick you when you're down.

I hope central gives sta a taste of their own medicine after how they generally try to take down elite teams when they aren't at full strength

Plus I'm tired of people saying the only elite teams in FL are privates

It's interesting, I was just thinking about privates vs publics in various states. I feel like the states that the elite schools are mostly public are Texas, Georgia, Alabama, Arizona. I'm sure I'm missing a few. Florida to me seems closer to 50/50.

I agree with this but I think it goes by counties.. Dade public’s runs it. Broward privates runs it.

Right ...maybe one of these centuries public schools will take over again notice every public school who seem’s to even remotely have a national recognition type season they all fade after 1 or 2 years aka Flanagan ..they was the only public to get that recognition and also bring home the Championship...where as schools like Hallandale in what 2014 & 15 couldn’t complete the national recognition season and its a plethora of other seasons as well before Flanagan in what 2015 NO!! Broward County PUBLIC SCHOOL had won a state Title since 09 so with all the talent that roams through Broward County u mean to tell me only ONE public school In 9 years!!! Was able to make it and when the state championship and even that school that did it in 2015 Is now a dumpster fire. Something is seriously wrong with that picture.

There is some interesting information at the post below.

Texas is probably the best example of a state where public schools dominate.  I believe California, Florida, and Ohio are the only states where there are a lot of private schools that get most of the press in hs football(NJ and PA to a lesser extent).  As I have said in previous posts...if Am Heritage, St Thomas, Bolles and IMG disappeared off the face of the earth, I doubt we would be talking much about private schools in FL sports, except for possibly in baseball.

    • what happens if, your 8-0, district title is secured, your lingering around the 6,7,8 spot in state max preps rankings.  however, you know, your not going to run the gambit of west boca, chaminade, venice, st thomas, columbus, miami central, etc, etc, etc.  and,,,,, coach dumps last 2 weeks of season, 8-2 and fall out of max preps top 8.  and run the table in your playoff division.... is it better to be 8th ranked in max preps and lose at some point in that bracket or  10th ranked and roll thru your division to a state title?  is the class 3405-A,  state champ better than 2nd round loss in open division  someone does this, i can promise it.
    • I like it. Especially for all the super teams who get 20+ transfers in year in and year out. Let those teams battle it out in the open division top 8. When it comes to this football stuff its levels. You have horrible teams, average teams, very good teams & super teams. If youre a super team with God knows how many transfers and youre going up against a very good team in the playoffs the super team is gonna win 9/10 times. Doing the open division puts all the super teams against each other and see whose the top dawg. The regular state playoffs is gonna be more of a even playing field if u ask me. No super teams, just deserving teams battling out for the state championship
    • American heritage has 7 titles they also won 2020, 2024 & 2025  Chaminade whose in 2A has 8 titles winning 2019 , 2021,2022,2023, and 2024
    • The open playoff bracket with more than five classifications is a terrible idea. The playoffs were already grossly watered down to begin with. Now you will be taking the best one or two teams out of each class, meaning a team that was never going to win the title will now win it, because the stiffest competition was removed Florida figures out a way to keep making things incompetent. It is actually pretty impressive.
    • I hear you about June being dead.  As for the new format, I'm already feeling sorry for the first 2A or 3A team to have a magical season, but end up sliding into the 8 spot the last week of the season and now, instead of winning their first state championship, they get their butts kicked by the number 1 seed to end their season in the first round of the playoffs.
