Columbia leads 27-13 at halftime 

 

We gave up a few big plays but mostly defense has looked solid

 

Columbia has been basically unstoppable in up tempo and i expect Columbia to wear Gainesville down and finish the second half strongly 

 

We definitely are dangerous but have to build up intensity if we intend to beat the better teams on schedule 

 

2nd half and next 2 games is about building up to reclaim our district from Lee week 4 in Lake City

Good Victory. Same play both times for two of GHS' TDs, but the offense looked very good overall. Could end up having the same issues they had a couple of years ago where they could get 25+ yards a play, but couldn't grind out a long drive. Otherwise, an impressive victory.

Columbia got some work to do 

 

Gave up too many big plays and too many points 

 

We didn't appear to have the same killer instinct I saw last week,  hopefully they will improve on their mistakes from playing Gainesville (yesterday and today) so they can make most of talent on the roster 

 

Off to prep for Suwannee next week 

 

On plus side Jordan Smith looking very good and once again the passing game had a excellent game and even a dose of running plays worked tonight

I'm curious I saw something on twitter about one of Gainesville players headbutting our qb that was mentioned by our LCR rep at the game

 

It was on that play where we ended up getting 30 yards of penalties 

 

Did you happen to see it because i missed that,  i only saw the swing afterwards which is probably why the call happened like it did

The biggest difference i saw is this offense doesn't seem to rely on the go route like 2015 did

 

They did several quick routes out of backfield last week but i didn't see as much of that this week

 

We did run the ball a lot better than last week but still a way to go

 

Any chance you plan to check out buchholz vs Columbia in 2 weeks at citizens?

Gainesville is one tough and talented team every year no matter up or down year. For Columbia to win by as much as they did you have to give credit to Columbia. That QB you have is very talented and makes that team go as well as it does. He is the type of QB who can take Columbia through the playoffs  and maybe on to Orlando. The OL has got to protect him from injury. He's also a rushing type QB, at times, and could get injured trying to do too much. That being said, I think this may be the breakout year that Columbia fans have been hoping for.
