Anywhere

I heard stories before about when we played valdosta there were fans sitting by the Georgia county line who would give our bus the middle finger as we entered the state and then would pound on our bus as we entered the stadium

Madison, Niceville and Trenton are also some pretty loud fan bases

St Augustine also had that special aura to there home stadium,  tough place to play for sure

I was just up thinking and I’m interested in schools with rowdy intimidating fan bases I know they exist so I thought I would make a post to see if my fellow hs football posters have encountered any.

Manatee is a pretty tough place to visit. It's not the fan base, per se, but it's the way the stadium is set up, and just the overall aura of the place. Dad's stadium at Tampa Plant, is another pretty intimidating place. The fans pack the place and the stadium is small and brings the fans very close to the field.

Apopka's fan base can be pretty rowdy, but I would not say they are especially intimidating.

I do remember a few of the students at apopka trash talking me before the game and during halftime,  i didn't hear anything after though

I wonder why :D

Just teasing darter but yeah,  crowd was good crowd and felt like a small college atmosphere but not really intimidation

I think Bolles crowd was like a college as well and (i think intentionally) Bolles set our team up to have to go right by their fans and sideline to get back to our side of the field

Even though i hate to admit it citizens field is tough place to play as well

How many teams share traz Powell?

Many. Most Dade County public schools don't have their own facilities. The ones that do are mostly in the South and South West part of the county. A number of North and Downtown Dade schools use Traz Powell. Among them are: Miami Northwestern, Carol City, Norland, Central, Booker T. Washington, etc.

Although many years ago, my younger brother also played at Mainland High. We were in the "Big 8" Conference then. (Mainland, Deland, Sanford, Gainsville, Winter Haven, Lakeland, Lakeland Kathleen, ??). They traveled to Kathleen for a game. Mainland's pretty boy running back drew the attention of several Lakeland "honeys."  Words were exchanged between the players/fans before, during, and after the game. Which Kathleen won 44-0. As Mainland loaded up on the bus a large crowd of "homers" gathered. Words were still flying. All the bus windows were raised up ( No A/C back then ). The crowd then started rocking the bus back and forth. The players hit the floor as an object broke one of the windows. According to my brother, not only did they get their ass whipped on the field, they still wanted more of that behind after the game. True story :)

Manatee does have a great place to see a game. The stadium with the concrete seats makes it different.

Plant is also interesting. The students really make it a home field for sure. Playoff games there have to be great.

Not rowdy but Stephenville in Texas was nice. Not much going on there so everyone comes out for the game. Field is also  used for the local small college. Had the feel of a great Friday Night scene. Rolled up the town for the local game.

Venice was a pretty nice place to watch a game, too. Was there for the Braden River game two seasons ago. Not sure I would want to attend this year's game, though!

In 2005 the Celtics were in class 2B and we played Blountstown in the last round of the playoffs. The game was at West Port HS, Ocala because Trinity Catholic at that time did not have the facilities to handle playoff type crowds. From the beginning of play until the end the Btown fans and players acted like street thugs. Some really nasty things said and done. Some of the Btown players were repeatedly flagged and  3 or 4 were thrown out of the game for tossing their helmets in the air and at our players. We won 43-0. Again, the following year, we met Btown in the last round this time at their stadium. Another unruly crowd and this time denigrating our coach Kerwin Bell with vulgar taunts and signs. No helmets thrown in this one. We won 50-7. Don't know how Btown fans and players are these days as we haven't played them since. But, they were probably the worst case scenario. Celtic fans and players are always disciplined and never start confrontations. The principal of OTC reminds fans that the school does not even appreciate booing of the opposing team or referees.  Maybe that is why in 17 years of football the team and fans have never gotten into an altercation at home or away.

    • First I want to express my apologies for my absence the last few months. Without going into much detail I have had some personal life struggles I have been dealing with on top of figuring out the direction to take FloridaHSFootball.com in. Things have finally settled out some over the last few weeks although I am not completely out of the woods just yet. Some of the decisions about what direction to take FloridaHSFootball.com have been forming over this time while I went through things. Part of me wondered if it was time to go, but really it is not at all. Thankfully, a loyal supporter near me in Gainesville decided to put their mouth where their money is and did a little investing and today FloridaHSFootball.com launched its first-ever Mobile App. With that said it comes with the sunset of the MVP Membership Subscriptions and thus FloridaHSFootball.com will be 100% free for the first time in a while. This comes as needing to get the clearances with Apple and Google and the current subscription platform we have is not syncing with Apple's system nor with the App itself. Its best we go in this direction to grow fans again and being able to put them facing forward with an app on their phone going forward. Here are the download links for the apps: iOS (Apple): https://apps.apple.com/us/app/floridahsfootball-com/id6477621728 Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.floridahsfootball.app&hl=en_US&gl=US   For now the forums will not be available directly in the app. At some point I maybe looking at changing the whole forum software that could eventually integrate into the app. It will be a while before this happens so things will go on as they are here.   I also apologize for any of the spam and troll accounts that have managed to find their way around the security protocols in setting up new accounts. It seems every day these things find ways to pass through control systems. I am going to be looking at getting this solved and will keep an eye on things here as we go along.   Please feel free to reach out to me if you all need anything, want to chat or have any suggestions.   -- Josh
    • They can definitely beat Central. My bulls is a toss up but I feel we should have the edge. EJ will be hard to stop though. Glad they not in 2A with us.
    • Blountstown at WS Neal AL Sept 27th. Also the Tate vs. Faith Academy game is no more. Tate will be playing Escambia instead now.
    • I like it if there is only 4 classes
    • I like the match. An entire COUNTY against a small little Catholic school. Toss up.
