Quiz: Playoff appearances

Recommended Posts

I was doing some research and since 1993 Columbia has made 22 playoff appearances and it got me to thinking, boy i bet not a lot of teams can say they had as many or more

I discovered quite a few surprises

A total of 14 programs in FL had 22 or more in that same stretch, 9 of them being public schools

So here's the quiz, name every school with 22 or more playoff appearances since 1993 and How many they had

Here's the breakdown

4 teams from SFL

4 teams from Central FL

6 teams from North Florida

9 of the schools are public schools and 5 are private schools

Let's see who's smart enough to get this one

Glades Central has 24 in that span.

Glades Day has 22.

I think those are the only 2 in Palm Beach County with this accomplishment.

Yup

Glades Day may not have had same success last few years as they had for most of 90s and 00s but with Champagnat having huge question marks Glades Day might have potential to make a run in 2a South this year

Glades Central also qualifies for this accomplishment

Those are 2 of the 4 SFL teams to have 22 or more playoff appearances since 1993

You are also correct, unless I had a huge oversight in my research then those 2 are the only Palm Beach county teams listed

The final 2 from SFL are further south and both have been successful not only at consistency but also at winning state titles

If i say anything else about them it will be too easy to figure out the answer :)

Everyone you listed is correct however you missed 1 team who also fits the criteria

So far

6/7 from North Florida has been named

Columbia [22 appearances]

Bolles [25 appearances]

Madison County [22 appearances]

Niceville [22 appearances]

North Florida Christian [24 appearances]

Trinity Christian [23 appearances]

1/4 from Central Florida has been named

Vero Beach  [22 appearances]

2/4 from South Florida  has been named

Glades Central [24 appearances]

Glades Day [22 appearances]

so we have 2 more SFL, 3 more central Florida and 1 more north Florida team to name

Ironically each region has only 1 team who has made playoffs every year since 93 (25 appearances)

Bolles (North Florida)

Lakeland (Central Florida)

St Thomas Aquinas (South Florida)

The remaining team from Central Florida has only missed once in that stretch

The North Florida team has made 22 appearances and won multiple state championships in the stretch

    • I feel like y'all are always solid so I don't see y'all going no worse than 7-3. Biggest question mark for Cocoa is their O-line since they are only returning 1 and on the defensive side they only return their blue chip edge in their front 7
    • Coach Wiseman, let me just preface this by saying that you were the best HC Sarasota's program has had in the last 20+ years. You brought them from being a perpetual losing program to the doorstep of competing with Venice for a district title and a deep playoff run. SHS will curse the day they fired you now that they are back in a rut. You are a true class act, and nothing will ever convince me otherwise.  Our backfield is certainly sparse right now. We do have Dorian Jones, a rising sophomore runningback whom did considerably well considering his limited playing time last season. Our offense will need an overhaul with the graduation of 3 offensive linemen and almost our entire receiving corps. Our defensive line will be strong with the return of Ke'shawn Vaughn, Elijah Jones, and Asharri Charles. Our linebacking corps graduates virtually everybody but should have at least one bright spot with the return of Ben Zarkawiecz. Our defensive backfield is still a work in progress with the graduation of Lester and Platt. At the moment, we have more question marks than exclamation points. And that's not a good feeling with the kind of competition Venice is going to face.
    • It's possible that they find their stride by week 5, but at the moment we just don't have the on-paper talent to compete with teams like Miami NW, IMG National, Cocoa, or Bishop Verot. If Venice can find a way to go 7-3 with that schedule I would be happy

    • Just wait till spring is over and the top RB in the area will take his talent to 1 Indian Ave.
