I think we will find out where Deerfield Beach stands very soon.  As if starting off with Chaminade-Madonna wasn't enough, next up will be a Buford team they will face in Georgia in a couple of weeks.  Buford routed a solid Tucker program 40-14 yesterday-some highlights at link below.

https://www.11alive.com/article/sports/derrian-brown-collects-4-tds-in-bufords-rout-of-tucker-in-the-corky-kell/85-585293880

Below are some of the players Buford features.  There will be a ton of FBS talent on the field at this game.  Buford is known for very disciplined play.  A win for DB would be huge.

Derrian Brown-4 star RB multiple Power 5 offers; #15 RB in the country

Aaron McLaughlin-sophomore QB 6'4" 225lbs; already has offers from every Power 5 school you can name

T Lee-3 star ATH multiple Power 5 offers

KJ Johnson-3 star ATH multiple Power 5 offers

Elijah Turner-3 star ATH multiple Power 5 offers

Austin Turner-WR pursuing baseball career; very athletic

Harry Miller-5 star OL 6'4" 300  Ohio State commit

Riley Simonds-3 star OL  6'3" 325  U of Florida commit

Carter Colquitt-3 star OL 6'5" 300 Ole Miss commit

Reece McIntyre-3 star OL 6'5" 290 Ole Miss commit

Jacob Smith-sophomore 6'3" 305 OL interest from Michigan St

Ahmad Craig-3 star DE Duke commit

Jalar Holley-3 star DT U of Miami commit

Jalen Huff-3 star CB multiple Power 5 offers

I hope I'm wrong but I got a feeling Buford is going to work them.   DFB better be ready to face a serious OLine.    Hope DFB is able to move the ball on offense to allow their D some time to breath.   Buford's O is one if those that can wear defense down.

In 2014, Buford shut out nationally ranked Trinity Christian and last year they beat Melbourne Central Catholic, so there is some history with Florida.  I think Deerfield's defense could have problems stopping Buford....huge line, elite rb, and a big pocket passer south FL kids don't often face.  Buford does not typically beat itself.  They remind me of a small, public version of St Thomas Aquinas.

This.  I thought DFB's defense would at least hold SJR's O in check last year, but they got blown out.   This years Buford team is a good bit better than last years SJR, at least that's my take after watching them.

I was thinking the same.  ...another interesting thing about Buford.  They have a great overall sports program like STA and encourage kids to play other sports.  I think it gives them an edge on the football field.

For example, they have a 6'1" 222-pound linebacker who is an elite-level lacrosse player.  You know that guy does not get easily gassed.  And they have a wr who is a big-time baseball recruit...must have some great hand-eye coordination.

Yeah I think Buford has sent the most kids to play D1 football in the state.  That says a lot.

Video of what Deerfield is up against this weekend.  Look at the size of the line, and Derrian Brown is rated the #15 rb in the country.  Buford is 9-1 vs OOS competition since 2007.

Deerfield will need to move the ball in the air to have a chance.  One thing Ga teams just aren't as good at as FL schools is pass defense.

That being said the game is at Buford and will most certainly be 12 v 11.   I think they'd win in a neutral site though anyways (but would be much closer)

Lol ion watch em every week and etc but I’ve watched em and know their track record over national ranked teams/Florida teams if this was in Deerfield on that junk yard of a field then I would call this game much closer but it’s in ga Deerfield like most Broward teams are a front runner but if u hit them in the mouth early and often it’s all she wrote watch. The funny thing about it tho Is even after the hype about Deerfield is still gonna b there lol

...an article about Deerfield's victory over Buford.  Wow, Buford is normally disciplined, but had a tremendous amount of turnovers in this game.  Sounds like all 3 of DB's TD's were off long passing plays.  That rb and Oline from Buford must be special for DB to allow that much in the way of rushing yards.

    • I was actually itching to treat some wager some money on some sports matches that are happening above-board now. I wanted to let you guys identify that I did spot what I ruminate on to be the kindest site in the USA. If you fall short of to get in on the spirit, check it out-moded: https://pokeronline.guru/online-gambling/
    • Perhaps the best RB in Tampa Bay iin 2023 saw his program close, and is looking for a home. If he stays in the area,Venice is a good bet. (Lakeland may be as well).
    • And if that same newsletter asked the Osceola County Sheriff Department, what do you think the response would be? If you asked, members of the Chamber of Commerce? (Essentially a union of businesses) If you asked a group of nurses? If you asked a group of lawyers? Also a union cares about the working conditions of their members, but the working conditions of teachers are the learning conditions of students as well. People are attracted to careers because of the values that come with those careers. Political Parties attract people based on their values. So it shouldn't be surprising that certain professions attract certain people in certain careers. You act as if the principal's first question when we have a 5,000+ teachers shortage in this state is "who do you vote for? And are you a member of the union?"
    • I feel like y'all are always solid so I don't see y'all going no worse than 7-3. Biggest question mark for Cocoa is their O-line since they are only returning 1 and on the defensive side they only return their blue chip edge in their front 7
    • Coach Wiseman, let me just preface this by saying that you were the best HC Sarasota's program has had in the last 20+ years. You brought them from being a perpetual losing program to the doorstep of competing with Venice for a district title and a deep playoff run. SHS will curse the day they fired you now that they are back in a rut. You are a true class act, and nothing will ever convince me otherwise.  Our backfield is certainly sparse right now. We do have Dorian Jones, a rising sophomore runningback whom did considerably well considering his limited playing time last season. Our offense will need an overhaul with the graduation of 3 offensive linemen and almost our entire receiving corps. Our defensive line will be strong with the return of Ke'shawn Vaughn, Elijah Jones, and Asharri Charles. Our linebacking corps graduates virtually everybody but should have at least one bright spot with the return of Ben Zarkawiecz. Our defensive backfield is still a work in progress with the graduation of Lester and Platt. At the moment, we have more question marks than exclamation points. And that's not a good feeling with the kind of competition Venice is going to face.
