Will we win a title tho?? Na but as long as these kids and coaches trust the process we won’t be far offThem panthers showed fight heart and they hit booker t in the mouth first they just have to keep hitting but aye it’s the first game adjustments are still being made mistakes will happen PAWS UP

A few thoughts

Turnovers! Turnovers! Turnovers!

That is without a doubt what cost Dillard in that game

Dillard looks to be solid talent wise, not elite but solid

They will run through their district with ease but probably lose to one of Miami big 3 but I'm sure you know this

Goal for Dillard this year should be establish a identity moving forward and rebuild confidence both in the players and in the fanbase and student body and get people both in and out of the program buying into Dillard

I feel Dillard beats Western if they play mistake free but they turn ball over like in this game they will be in serious trouble

Also on a funny note the refs seemed to be helping Dillard (literally) that one ref threw a solid block on BTW on that run play :D

I don’t even think Dillard has to play mistake free to win because no team plays just a perfect game especially not against a team who is just as good or “better then them”

i picked western to win this  week simply because I don’t trust the refs at western and plus Dillard has not shown me yet they can beat a solid team as of recent especially on the road.

They beat Jackson but that didn’t count as A WIN OR LOSS but I just have a feeling Dillard is gonna shake up the rankings this week beating a very solid western team. I feel it.

When i say mistake free I'm referring to turnovers

@ColumbiaHighFan2017class What you think bro I kno u don’t see much videos of us but what’s ya take @OldSchoolLion you to bro since you go back in the old days with Dillard.

What was the common thread of those great Dillard teams of the past...Otis Mounds, Lorenzo White, James Bostic, Hyland Hickson.

Sure the game has changed, but that doesn't mean that you have to change with it.  Think about it.

Defense and a solid offense with a dependable qb and a monster at Rb

There you go.  Based on the little I saw in the video, Dillard was playing BTW's game offensively.

Broward public schools will likely continue to have difficulty matching up with Dade's best from a purely athletic standpoint.  Why did the Canes have trouble with Penn St back in the 1987 Fiesta Bowl..a Canes team that many considered unstoppable.  There is a lot to learn from that game.

Everyone wants to play this "finesse" game today, and that's great if you have the athletes to do it.  But there aren't many teams around the country that are going to "outfinesse" the Dade County teams.

That Penn St team was incredibly physical.  The Big 10 was known for it back in the day.  Look at the 1998 and 1999 Wisconsin teams.  Not the most exciting team to watch offensively, but with Ron Dayne at rb and those enormous farm boys on their line, they were incredibly physical and just wore people down.  By the second half of games when the dline was getting tired, Dayne would run wild.

Miami also had 5 picks thrown in that game which had a bit to do with that close loss :)

    • Perhaps the best RB in Tampa Bay iin 2023 saw his program close, and is looking for a home. If he stays in the area,Venice is a good bet. (Lakeland may be as well).
    • And if that same newsletter asked the Osceola County Sheriff Department, what do you think the response would be? If you asked, members of the Chamber of Commerce? (Essentially a union of businesses) If you asked a group of nurses? If you asked a group of lawyers? Also a union cares about the working conditions of their members, but the working conditions of teachers are the learning conditions of students as well. People are attracted to careers because of the values that come with those careers. Political Parties attract people based on their values. So it shouldn't be surprising that certain professions attract certain people in certain careers. You act as if the principal's first question when we have a 5,000+ teachers shortage in this state is "who do you vote for? And are you a member of the union?"
    • I feel like y'all are always solid so I don't see y'all going no worse than 7-3. Biggest question mark for Cocoa is their O-line since they are only returning 1 and on the defensive side they only return their blue chip edge in their front 7
    • Coach Wiseman, let me just preface this by saying that you were the best HC Sarasota's program has had in the last 20+ years. You brought them from being a perpetual losing program to the doorstep of competing with Venice for a district title and a deep playoff run. SHS will curse the day they fired you now that they are back in a rut. You are a true class act, and nothing will ever convince me otherwise.  Our backfield is certainly sparse right now. We do have Dorian Jones, a rising sophomore runningback whom did considerably well considering his limited playing time last season. Our offense will need an overhaul with the graduation of 3 offensive linemen and almost our entire receiving corps. Our defensive line will be strong with the return of Ke'shawn Vaughn, Elijah Jones, and Asharri Charles. Our linebacking corps graduates virtually everybody but should have at least one bright spot with the return of Ben Zarkawiecz. Our defensive backfield is still a work in progress with the graduation of Lester and Platt. At the moment, we have more question marks than exclamation points. And that's not a good feeling with the kind of competition Venice is going to face.
    • It's possible that they find their stride by week 5, but at the moment we just don't have the on-paper talent to compete with teams like Miami NW, IMG National, Cocoa, or Bishop Verot. If Venice can find a way to go 7-3 with that schedule I would be happy
