COF Academy @ IMG

Hmmmmmmmm. This is COF Academy's first year in existence. They are a private school out of Ohio and the owner is modeling the Academy after IMG. He is trying to make them into a "football factory", his own words. Right out of the box the team is playing out of state teams that are way above COF's abilities. Apparently he feels that putting the team into the oven right away will breed toughness of character. By the way COF stands for Christians of Faith. They will have to practice their faith every second of this game tonight in order to not have a running clock in the first quarter I'm afraid. COF has lost their first 7 games by substantial margins. However, to their credit, they won their 8the game against a fairly decent team and lost their 9th game 14-12 against a fairly decent team. So, who knows?

I believe, but am not certain, that this game has been cancelled.

This Game has indeed been cancelled. COF decided last week not to make the trip. Game was scheduled to be played at St Stephens Episcopal Saturday Afternoon at 1:00

So, I guess, Hoover will be IMG's last game of the season. Is there some reason that visiting teams are not playing in IMG's stadium? That Manatee field is really pretty bad from what I can see of it.

Yeah they're hosting a big US Soccer World Cup Concacaf U-20 Qualifying tournament there over the next month. Preparation started last Saturday on the fields over there so they had to move the game to Manatee
