25 Great Teams of the 1990's

Some observations...

• I considered about 50 teams when compiling this.  Every team amongst the 25 below won at least one state title and/or 2 runner-up titles.
• None of the teams from the "Top 10 Teams of the 80's" is in the Top 10 below.  Glades Central was listed as one of the Top Teams of the 70's.  
• In the 70's and 80's, teams rarely made the playoffs more than 5 times in a decade and repeat state champions were not terribly common.  That changed in the 90's.  
• Bolles and St Thomas emerged as state powerhouses, along with several other private schools.  Public schools had dominated in past decades.
• The Sarasota/Bradenton area was a football hotbed this decade with Southeast, Manatee and Sarasota Riverview.
• A sixth classification was added in 1999.  In 1994, Class 6A was created, however, the number of classifications remained at five.
