No more 3 or 8 team districts... I am liking this.  There will of course be some complainers lol

Only ones complaining are ones who didn't get a favorable district

Only complaint I see is legitimate is tca being forced into 3A

The reason they moved up was because the Duval schools are scared of Trinity and they wanted to limit travel

They'll be back in the finals tho and I'm sure they can schedule some of the team's they've been playing while in 5A. 4A north is gonna be between Cocoa and Bolles for the most part. But 4A south is gonna be crazy especially with region 4.....region 4 is gonna be a battle. There will be at least 4 teams in the playoffs from region 4 at a minimum.

And they actually split up the 3 headed monster of Miami's 6A district. STA is gonna have their hands full in the semifinals.  I'm actually happy with what they did.

Looks like the only big programs that got added to Region 3 in 7A are Manatee and Dwyer(who they had to face anyway when in Region 4).  And now STA has Miramar and Atlantic in Region 4, which may add some challenge.  STA still manages to miss all of the better Miami-Dade schools in the playoffs...one day, just maybe

Can someone explain why is Madison in region 3? Why not put them in 2? I had this question last go round.

When I look at this map, I see Madison fitting better into 3 than 2 in my opinion. Additionally, if you pull Madison out of Region 3 and put them in Region 2, Region 3 only has 8 teams instead of 9, Region 2 goes to 10 team. That is unbalanced when purely regional teams are determining who makes it.

I think the FHSAA did a good job, I will only disagree with one thing on their FAQ

"A: After traveling the state this past year, the consensus the FHSAA heard from its athletic directors and coaches was that they wanted an equal number of teams by classification, an even number of teams in each district and region and no three-team districts. Moving schools would go against that sentiment and would create uneven classifications, regions or districts. The staff has thoroughly reviewed the assignments and do not see any schools that are geographically isolated that would require movement to another classification (FHSAA Policy 12). To maintain the wishes of our constituents, the FHSAA will not be accepting appeals."

I do not think they lived up to the part where are equal number of teams per classification considering 1A-4A have 40ish teams and 5A-8A have 80 teams. Again, the FHSAA would have done better to remove one class and then do equal size classes. Instead of the current 1/3 and 2/3 rule they follow.

Which team is closer to Jefferson? Madison or Taylor? Region 4 has 10 teams... So put the north most region 4 team, Trenton, in region 3, and move Madison to region 2. That moves the 10 team region from 4 to 2 and leaves regions 1, 3, and 4 with 9 teams.

    • First I want to express my apologies for my absence the last few months. Without going into much detail I have had some personal life struggles I have been dealing with on top of figuring out the direction to take FloridaHSFootball.com in. Things have finally settled out some over the last few weeks although I am not completely out of the woods just yet. Some of the decisions about what direction to take FloridaHSFootball.com have been forming over this time while I went through things. Part of me wondered if it was time to go, but really it is not at all. Thankfully, a loyal supporter near me in Gainesville decided to put their mouth where their money is and did a little investing and today FloridaHSFootball.com launched its first-ever Mobile App. With that said it comes with the sunset of the MVP Membership Subscriptions and thus FloridaHSFootball.com will be 100% free for the first time in a while. This comes as needing to get the clearances with Apple and Google and the current subscription platform we have is not syncing with Apple's system nor with the App itself. Its best we go in this direction to grow fans again and being able to put them facing forward with an app on their phone going forward. Here are the download links for the apps: iOS (Apple): https://apps.apple.com/us/app/floridahsfootball-com/id6477621728 Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.floridahsfootball.app&hl=en_US&gl=US   For now the forums will not be available directly in the app. At some point I maybe looking at changing the whole forum software that could eventually integrate into the app. It will be a while before this happens so things will go on as they are here.   I also apologize for any of the spam and troll accounts that have managed to find their way around the security protocols in setting up new accounts. It seems every day these things find ways to pass through control systems. I am going to be looking at getting this solved and will keep an eye on things here as we go along.   Please feel free to reach out to me if you all need anything, want to chat or have any suggestions.   -- Josh
    • They can definitely beat Central. My bulls is a toss up but I feel we should have the edge. EJ will be hard to stop though. Glad they not in 2A with us.
    • Blountstown at WS Neal AL Sept 27th. Also the Tate vs. Faith Academy game is no more. Tate will be playing Escambia instead now.
    • I like it if there is only 4 classes
    • I like the match. An entire COUNTY against a small little Catholic school. Toss up.
