We haven't played down South in the playoffs in a decade

I know. The Treasure Coast is really on the bubble between North and South. Used to be South in the early 2000s then became North for several years ending this year.

But maybe this is the spark to get VB to Orlando. You never know.

But they'll have to deal with speed, now I see a game with Glades Central will definitely be help af......

Plant has to love this. One of the smallest teams in 8A, but Manatee, Wekiva, and Vero moved out. Also ,Rick Darlington leaving Apopka cannot be good for that program.

Looks like the 8A powers are going to be Plant, Dr. Phillips, Sar. Riverview, BT, Mandarin (if they build on their championship), Deerfield, and Columbus.

We will see. A decision should be made very shortly. The talent is still in the zone. The trick is to keep it.

Also, VB is still 8A. But they are now in Region 3 on the south end of the brackets.

playoff teams from each region(from this past season) who moved out:

8A Region 1-Wekiva

8A Region 2-Centennial, Gateway, Manatee, Treasure Coast, Vero Beach

8A Region 3-Atlantic, Miramar, Piper, Plantation, Western

8A Region 4-Belen, Hialeah, North Miami, Southridge

Plant is moving into a Region 2 that is being depleted and is the only one of 8 teams moving in who made the playoffs last year.  Plant will have to contend with Dr P, Sarasota Riverview, and Osceola though, compared to Lakeland and Viera in the region they came from.  So, am not sure one can say that their path to a region title is that much easier.

Likewise, Vero Beach is moving into a Region 3 that is being depleted, and is one of 3 teams who made the playoffs last year (the other 2 being Centennial and Treasure Coast) moving into the region.  Now they will have to deal with Deerfield Beach and Palm Beach Central, whereas Dr P, Manatee and Riverview stood in their way before.  Am not sure how much easier their path is to a region title.

Deerfield Beach in Region 3 may be the most fortunate of all teams in 8A in terms of the changes.  A bunch of serious contenders moved out of their region, and a serious contender in region 4(Southridge) moved out of the class.  Though they still have to deal with some serious contenders in that region, I would say that overall, Deerfield Beach has a significantly easier path to the state final now.

Plant and Dr. P are tied up two a piece in playoff matchups. Outside of 2011, Plant didn't field very strong teams when it was in 8A. I think their in a better spot right now.

decision was made 2 days ago.  jeff Rolson.  Also osceola is still in that region but 8A North is not loaded with teams that have tons of transfers so it is easier to make it there and win it than 7A

    • Complaining about North Florida slappies losing to South Florida powers is like someone graduating high school complaining that companies are only hiring college graduates and not them. And then a company saying ok to make it fair, we will open division and only hire high school graduates.
    • First I want to express my apologies for my absence the last few months. Without going into much detail I have had some personal life struggles I have been dealing with on top of figuring out the direction to take FloridaHSFootball.com in. Things have finally settled out some over the last few weeks although I am not completely out of the woods just yet. Some of the decisions about what direction to take FloridaHSFootball.com have been forming over this time while I went through things. Part of me wondered if it was time to go, but really it is not at all. Thankfully, a loyal supporter near me in Gainesville decided to put their mouth where their money is and did a little investing and today FloridaHSFootball.com launched its first-ever Mobile App. With that said it comes with the sunset of the MVP Membership Subscriptions and thus FloridaHSFootball.com will be 100% free for the first time in a while. This comes as needing to get the clearances with Apple and Google and the current subscription platform we have is not syncing with Apple's system nor with the App itself. Its best we go in this direction to grow fans again and being able to put them facing forward with an app on their phone going forward. Here are the download links for the apps: iOS (Apple): https://apps.apple.com/us/app/floridahsfootball-com/id6477621728 Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.floridahsfootball.app&hl=en_US&gl=US   For now the forums will not be available directly in the app. At some point I maybe looking at changing the whole forum software that could eventually integrate into the app. It will be a while before this happens so things will go on as they are here.   I also apologize for any of the spam and troll accounts that have managed to find their way around the security protocols in setting up new accounts. It seems every day these things find ways to pass through control systems. I am going to be looking at getting this solved and will keep an eye on things here as we go along.   Please feel free to reach out to me if you all need anything, want to chat or have any suggestions.   -- Josh
    • They can definitely beat Central. My bulls is a toss up but I feel we should have the edge. EJ will be hard to stop though. Glad they not in 2A with us.
    • Blountstown at WS Neal AL Sept 27th. Also the Tate vs. Faith Academy game is no more. Tate will be playing Escambia instead now.
