Jacksonville Area Question

What is going on at Wolfson? They used to be a 2000 person school, they were highly competitive in boys basketball because of the stability at the coaching position.

I know that Atlantic Coast was supposed to relieve overcrowding, but I thought the overcrowding was a little at Wolfson, and mostly at Mandarin, Englewood, and Sandalwood. Any reason for the cutting of Wolfson's population by 2/3 over the past 16 years. Englewood's population has remained stable and Atlantic Coast's population has increased since they opened but not by that much.

The school is becoming an IB/magnet school. Therefore, they are reducing the size of the school and kids who can’t make the grades are being forced to go elsewhere.

I have already seen the student demographics change.

Interesting. The IB schools in the Orlando area, aren't exclusively so. The IB kids typically make up a 1/4 or less of the overall enrollment. Winter Park and Seminole come to mind.

That’s how St Johns County & Clay are as well. Duval has found success with the magnet only school model though
