Ok what am I missing here with this kid?  I mean he's 5'8 but that just can not be the reason not one big program has offered this kid.   

Mandarin WR Demario Douglas.     1300+ yds 16 TDS WTF?    Noticed him while watching tape on Mandarin QB Carson Beck and just couldn't help but ask myself who the Fk is #1??   So I look him up...and I'm disappointed.   FAU?  UAB?   Don't even care if he's 5'8.    Watch the film and tell me I'm wrong!!  Kid is a stud!

Absolute travesty.   My son play defense on the team so I got to see it live every week.  He is completely unstoppable.  Nice at pg on the court too.

Recruiting sites are very lazy

 

If he was at IMG, STA, Miami Central, Miami Northwestern, ect they probably would have him at least as a 3 star and likely higher

 

Mandarin got some talent for sure, I think it's a toss up between them and Trinity Christian for best teams in duval going into next year

So what's the deal then?  This kid's tape is as good as it gets.  Even with smaller stature, his tape should garner this kid solid offers.    I posted his film on the a Florida forum and even that one guy that says everyone sucks was impressed and confused.   Did he tank at a camp he went to or something?

True.  Meanwhile,  6'2 and 6'3 receivers getting offers as juniors with 300 yards on the year strictly on measurables.

Measurable's are the "in" thing right now.  We have a dude just like yours: http://www.hudl.com/profile/6192740/Sean-Atkins/videos and as of now is looking at a preferred walk on at USF.  While that's great it's not what he deserves.  Plus the kid has over a 3.5 GPA.  We actually have another kid this season that HAS the height measurable and is being overlooked even with the skills: http://www.hudl.com/profile/10966448/Shamaar-Mohr/videos He just got turned down by Richmond for not being heavy enough?

I recently saw a Twitter post of a 5'8" 165lbs QB being offered by an SEC team (Kentucky)!  Come on man.  Unless he grows fast we all know he is highly unlikely to go to UK (0.3% chance and yes I looked into the numbers).
