No but it will be a lot of blowouts. Nothing but powerhouses from other states are in it.

Milton,GA

Hoover,AL

Brentwood Academy,TN

Archer,GA

Alpharetta,GA (worst team)

Hmm these matchups are gonna be kinda crazy for Florida. I would say Cocoa v Brentwood but I definitely see them matching CCC wit Brentwood. No idea who is gonna line up against Hoover. They'll probably put Cocoa against Milton or Archer.

Tampa Plant will be traveling to the nation's capital this fall to take on Gonzaga College High School on Sept. 27th.  According to MaxPreps, Gonzaga finished 23rd this past season in the MaxPreps Xcellent 25 and 35th in the MaxPreps National Ranking.

No word on whether Plant will accept an invitation to visit the White House if they manage to win the game.  B)

I'm hearing Wakulla will be traveling to Eufaula, AL week 1.  This is year 2 for the new Eufaula coach and they're supposedly getting a lot of transfers...and they're paying Wakulla to come there...so I'm guessing  they're expecting to have a pretty good team this year.

Plant better step up its recruiting. Gonzaga is no joke.

The teams have been finalized for the freedom bowl. Here are the national rankings based off 2018 send of season results:

Alpharetta (GA): Georgia Rank: 171           National Rank:3104
Pickerington Central (OH): Ohio Rank: 7    National Rank: 54
CCC (FL): Florida Rank: 30                           National Rank: 255
Bishop Sycamore (OH): Ohio Rank:116      National Rank: 1300
Cocoa (FL): Florida Rank: 36                        National Rank: 307
Mainland (FL): Florida Rank: 69                  National Rank:820
Hoover (AL): Alabama Rank:4                      National Rank:121
Milton (GA): Georgia Rank: 2                        National Rank: 37
UMS-Wright (AL):Alabama Rank: 13           National Rank: 652
Winter Park (FL): Florida Rank 32                 National Rank: 288
Western (FL): Florida Rank: 78                      National Rank: 916
Brentwood (TN): Tennesse Rank: 2             National Rank: 173

As others have said in this thread, there are some heavy hitters between these 12 teams. I'm not sure what metric they'll use to separate the teams. I also know that 2018 is over, but I have to imagine this will be part of whatever metric is used.

I think the people in charge of the freedom bowl just assign the teams either randomly or what works for the teams

And one team is clearly not like the others lol

Alpharetta (GA) #3104 vs Milton (GA) #37

Some notes about the Freedom Bowl.

Alpharetta is playing Milton because they are rivals and Alpharetta is forcing Milton to play. Which sucks ass.

Also Bishop Sycamore isn’t the Sycamore team listed on maxpreps. They will be a first year football team this coming year. So a lot of unknown.

The matchups will be revealed shortly

    • First I want to express my apologies for my absence the last few months. Without going into much detail I have had some personal life struggles I have been dealing with on top of figuring out the direction to take FloridaHSFootball.com in. Things have finally settled out some over the last few weeks although I am not completely out of the woods just yet. Some of the decisions about what direction to take FloridaHSFootball.com have been forming over this time while I went through things. Part of me wondered if it was time to go, but really it is not at all. Thankfully, a loyal supporter near me in Gainesville decided to put their mouth where their money is and did a little investing and today FloridaHSFootball.com launched its first-ever Mobile App. With that said it comes with the sunset of the MVP Membership Subscriptions and thus FloridaHSFootball.com will be 100% free for the first time in a while. This comes as needing to get the clearances with Apple and Google and the current subscription platform we have is not syncing with Apple's system nor with the App itself. Its best we go in this direction to grow fans again and being able to put them facing forward with an app on their phone going forward. Here are the download links for the apps: iOS (Apple): https://apps.apple.com/us/app/floridahsfootball-com/id6477621728 Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.floridahsfootball.app&hl=en_US&gl=US   For now the forums will not be available directly in the app. At some point I maybe looking at changing the whole forum software that could eventually integrate into the app. It will be a while before this happens so things will go on as they are here.   I also apologize for any of the spam and troll accounts that have managed to find their way around the security protocols in setting up new accounts. It seems every day these things find ways to pass through control systems. I am going to be looking at getting this solved and will keep an eye on things here as we go along.   Please feel free to reach out to me if you all need anything, want to chat or have any suggestions.   -- Josh
    • They can definitely beat Central. My bulls is a toss up but I feel we should have the edge. EJ will be hard to stop though. Glad they not in 2A with us.
    • Blountstown at WS Neal AL Sept 27th. Also the Tate vs. Faith Academy game is no more. Tate will be playing Escambia instead now.
    • I like it if there is only 4 classes
    • I like the match. An entire COUNTY against a small little Catholic school. Toss up.
