Do college football players get in trouble more often than other college athletes, proportionately speaking?  The short answer appears to be "yes," at least according to one set of data.

"In 2014, ArrestNation.com reported that college football players accounted for more than 65.71% of all college athletic-related arrests. That number is alarming when considering that during the 2014 season college football players represented 26.3% of the male student-athlete and 14.9% of the overall student-athlete populations." 

...above is an excerpt from the following article.  I don't have any political agenda for sharing.  Simply thought it was interesting.  It appears the folks publishing the information are trying to study such topics in an academic environment.

While I don't exactly disagree with what the data is presenting being true do you think another factor that could be leading to a high percentage versus other sports could also have to do with most sports having rosters of around 20 kids while football has rosters of 100 kids?

At the time of the study, 14.9% of all college athletes were football players, and those 14.9% were responsible for nearly 2/3 of all crimes committed by college athletes.  That is highly disproportionate.   That statement accounts for the differences in numbers of athletes playing in each sport.
