I think they did

Either way it proved the entire NFL underestimated Zedrick Woods who wasn't even projected to be drafted heading into the combine

That combine opened some eyes

How did it prove the entire NFL under estimated him? GTFOH.   If they invited him to the combine they didn't under estimate him.

Also speed doesn't mean he will be a good player but it sure helps.  I wish him the best of luck in his journey to playing in the NFL

They had him projected to be undrafted that's how

When last time the fastest 40 time at combine was projected as UNDRAFTED???

as for his other skills just watch his tape, one of few standouts on a pretty weak ole Miss team

the NFL did not have him projected as undrafted.  The NFL experts had him as a 7th rounder or free agent.  Big difference.  If he got invited to the combine the NFL saw something in him.

It's fun to see guys burn a 40 and as badbird says, having that kind of speed sure doesn't hurt.  My comments below don't take away from this accomplishment.

I think the emphasis on 40 times has hurt the game, in a way.  The subtle message to kids is that I need that kind of speed to succeed... and if I've got it I must be hot stuff.  Just like many years ago the bench press was used as a sign of overall strength.  As it turns out, it is a very limiting measure.

There is "game speed" that is hard to measure.  ..famous players who would never win a 40 competition but talk to guys who played against them and they would tell you that these guys were just faster on the field.

It blows my mind to hear guys in the NBA talk about Larry Bird being one of the guys they least liked to defend.  Everyone said the guy was slow and could not jump, but somehow on the court the guy was a terror.  The whole is greater than the sum of its parts.  Sorry, but if I want to see "pure speed" I'll go to a track meet.  I think the whole "40 thing" at the combine makes for a nice show, but is not the greatest indicator of future success.

Do they have a side by side?

No (don't think they wanted the same crap that happened with White vs Amari Cooper).  They did however have both simulcamed with DK Metcalf.   This site won't let me upload the screenshots I took of them but I posted something similar here.

I guess the NFL "experts" know something because they predicted him to be a 7th round or undrafted and... he was undrafted. But I guess you get to make history by being the first guy to have the fastest time at the combine and go undrafted.

As for if he makes the team (which is the part that actually matters), I actually give him a decent chance. Jacksonville is very thin at S, the only guy they drafted at S is more likely a LB than a S. He will also be a rookie minimum contract which improves his chances as well as he will be cheaper than an experienced veteran.

    • It would weed out the bad teams that are not championship material. The cream would rise to the top. So once the the teams ranked in the 400’s and 500’s were gone after the first round like they should be, it would start to get to the point only good teams are left. The last couple rounds would be the best of the best. One true state champion.    Watering down the classes and letting teams who normally would have no business winning a title advance further than they should is like letting a toddler hold a fake steering wheel and pretend he’s driving. It’s not real. And it doesn’t prepare the kids for real life. It makes them think they are better than they really are.
    • Buy Azithromycin Online is a handy antibiotic you can buy online to treat specific bacterial infections. It’s great for things like respiratory infections (think coughs and sore throats), skin infections, ear infections, and even some sexually transmitted infections like chlamydia. One cool thing about it is that you usually only need to take it for a short time, usually around five days. Just remember, it’s super important to take the full course even if you start feeling better before it’s done. This helps make sure the infection is completely gone and doesn’t come back stronger. Like with any medication, there can be side effects, like upset stomach or diarrhea, so it’s always good to talk to your doctor or pharmacist first, especially if you have any health conditions or are taking other meds. Overall, Azithromycin can be an effective and convenient option for treating bacterial infections when used correctly.
    • Okay, how about that STA vs. Ida Baker matchup in your first round?  Does your analogy extend to South Florida slappies?  My opinion is simply that no one (except CoachGraham, apparently) would be interested in the 1 vs. 512, 2 vs. 511, and 200 other mismatches such a format would produce, regardless of geography.  But I could be wrong.  And now I'm thinking I should have skipped college.
