Very aggressive game both teams want it dillard has to be more aggressive in the paint and make their free throws when they get to the line!!!

The attendence at this game is putrid but that will be a separate thread about that there.

Letsss goooo dillard !!!

CONGRATS PANTHERS!!! after slipping up in districts we went the entire playoffs on the road ..we defeated a very good okachobee team we then defeated a big rival in Boyd Anderson who beat us just a week prior for the district title. Then we go on the road in a hostile environment against a team who was 30-0 and had won 51 consecutive games. Then in this state final 4 we go against a very stout terrier team who was 28-2 on the year one of those games was a forfeit because of county testing rules. And we came out on top again. Now we have a chance to win our third title in 4 years!!!

Terriers came in on a 21 game winning streak so in Dillard’s last two games y’all @ColumbiaHighFan2017class @badbird @OldSchoolLion @954gator @gatormike20 Our opponents were a combined 59-2 on the year technically 59-1 because hillsborough had to forfeit their kruel classic game against Westminster because of testing per county rules.

The overall comebined consecutive wins both teams came in on was a astonishing 72 consecutive games without a lost from both teams comebined just simply unreal. And the dillard panthers off 27th and 11th got it done. I couldn’t be more proud to be a panther man what this years boys team is doing as young as they are and with no clear cut big name player or transfer is just amazing.

Yeah I looked them up but their schedule out of all due respect doesn’t stand out to me.

I would expect Dillard to win but you still have to play well

Got that right nothing is a given but to be going for our third title in 4 years this time with a all new line up with no big name starter and the teams we had to go through to get to this point Is just wow!!

Crestview schedule wasn't all that great but somehow they beat the runner ups from last year (choctaw) twice, who did play a tough ish schedule. I hope crestview pulls it out, the panhandle could sure use a basketball champion.

Their schedule is solid for their area

Can't expect a team in panhandle to play half their schedule against South FL

Frankly if South FL teams can't get a good schedule it's because they didn't try Because they can easily find teams within a hour or 2 that are nationally ranked

We haven’t won any recently either lol last time we won was 2015 & 2016 we in 2019 lol

Crestview hasn't even been to final four since mid 80s

By comparison you all basically won a title a few days ago compared to last chance Crestview got

They can also travel look at Dillard we went to Vegas and I believe Carolina to play in tournaments our girls even go to Arizona to play in their tournament every year against the nations best teams. Other teams can do the same they don’t have to stay just in their city.

You have even teams coming from across the country to play in south Florida kruel classic and city of psalm tournament

Dillard is a recognized powerhouse that other schools would likely pay to have them be involved in those big national tournaments

Nobody was beating down the door to get Crestview on the schedule

You should know that powerhouses programs can normally name their schedule because playing those big names will give the programs exposure since college coaches look at programs like a Dillard as great feeding grounds since they normally are a loaded team in terms of talent

Yeah they did and while I didn't go to the game I saw enough on Twitter to feel that night they would play Dillard in the finals

I felt region 3 wasn't very strong and that Lehigh would get exposed as being a byproduct of a weak region

Crestview did bring a Good crowd though as did Columbia, saw pictures of both sides of gym packed for the game

    • Just wait a couple of years.  More schools keep leaving fhsaa they'll have their 8 team open division because that'll be all that's left.
    • using maxpreps rankings as the only decider for playoff berths.  no made up fhsaa rankings
    • So, back to the original post. Did anyone attend, watch or actually see/hear or read the minutes of what was discussed at the meeting? Were there any takeaways positive or negative? Any additional items that may have been brought up for discussion? Was anything decided?
    • Man, listen here, noimsayin... back in the day when I was slingin' subs at the Publix deli counter—yeah, the one where the old ladies come in askin' for "just a little bit of everything" like they orderin' from the Chinese buffet—I used to hear all kinds of wild stories from folks. But this one from nolebull813? This take the cake, bruh.   Picture this: It's 1990-somethin', I'm still young, fresh outta FAMU, chasin' this fine lil' thing who worked nights at the strip club off I-4 (don't judge, we all had our phases, and she said she was "dancin' to pay for nursing school"... yeah, I believed that for about three dates before the bouncer introduced himself real personal-like). Anyway, I'm sittin' there one night losin' my last $20 on a Dolphins game—'cause why not throw good money after bad, right?—when some coach from who-knows-where starts spinnin' this tale about how the FHSAA had this ironclad bylaw: one sport skips district, boom, whole school gets the death penalty for playoffs. Cross country ghosts the meet? Football, hoops, baseball—all of 'em sittin' home watchin' on TV like they owe child support.   I remember thinkin', "Man, that sound like some straight-up mafia rules. Like, Don Corleone runnin' the FHSAA board meetin' with a cigar and a gavel." But even back then, I was like, "Hold up... where the proof at? You got the handbook page? A newspaper clip? Somethin' besides 'I remember'?"   Fast forward to now—I'm pushin' 70, still at Publix (customer service counter these days, where I get to hear why someone's coupons expired in 2008 and it's my fault), and I been diggin' through every old FHSAA handbook I could find online, every statute from the '90s and 2000s, every news blip about sanctions. Ain't nothin'. Zero. Zilch. Not one single bylaw sayin' "cross country no-show = everybody go home." Penalties? Yeah, they hit the sport that messed up—fines, forfeits, maybe a year ban for that team. But the whole damn school? Nah, that ain't how they roll. Even when they drop the hammer on big dogs like The First Academy or Gadsden County for recruitin' nonsense, it's football-only gettin' the boot. Not basketball, not track, not even the cheer squad.   And that magic incident with the cross country team? Gone. Poof. No school name, no year, no article, no nothin'. It's like Bigfoot—everybody "knows somebody who saw it," but when you ask for the photo, crickets.   So nolebull813 out here droppin' these gems like they gospel, long on hot air, short on receipts. Bruh, if you gonna tell a story that wild, at least bring the receipts... or buy me a beer first. 'Cause right now? It sound like the kinda tale you tell after losin' a parlay and need somethin' to blame besides your bad picks.   Me?  I'll stick to what I know: Florida high school football is the best show in town, the FHSAA got rules (some dumb, some fair), but they ain't never been out here punishin' the whole cafeteria line 'cause one kid skipped gym class. Noimsayin'? Keep 'em comin', though—gives me somethin' to laugh about while I'm refundin' expired milk.
    • I’m old enough to remember that the FHSAA had a bylaw in place that if any sport refuses to compete in district competition, EVERY SPORT FROM THAT SCHOOL IS BANNED FROM THE PLAYOFFS FOR A YEAR!!!!!!!! There was a team that their cross country didn’t compete, so the football, basketball, baseball and every other sport was banned from the playoffs.    This corrupt and incompetent organization should be disbanded
