Lopsided Rivalries

Some really lopsided rivalries:

• Dr Phillips has won the last 15 games on the field vs Olympia.
• Lake Wales has won 18 of last 20 meetings vs Bartow.
• Lincoln has won 20 in a row versus Leon.
• Osceola has won 21 of the last 23 games versus St Cloud. 
• Charlotte leads series 33-4 over Port Charlotte(Port Charlotte won in 90, 07, 12, 13)   

Some other lopsided rivalries of late:

• Mainland vs Seabreeze
• East Lake vs Tarpon Spgs
• Navarre vs Gulf Breeze
• Manatee vs Palmetto

In a number of cases, after many years of losing, teams turned the tables in rivalries.  One might be surprised to learn that... 

• Leon dominated Lincoln for many years (they won the first 10 times they met)
• After losing 12 straight to Cocoa, Rockledge has won the last 2 games.  
• Niceville won 30 in a row versus Crestview, and now Crestview has won 5 of the last 7, including 2 victories this past season in dominating fashion.  
• Escambia has won the last 6 games vs Pensacola, and Pensacola won 11 in a row prior to that. 

What goes around comes around.  It's relatively rare any one team stays on top of their game decade after decade

Not a pure and storied rivalry like St Aug/Palatka, but Bartram Trail just beat St Aug for the first time in 18 years. 

St Aug and B Trail have played every year since 2001, the 2nd year of B Trail’s existence. 

18 years total. And in 2018, B Trail finally won. 

St Aug 17 wins, Bartram Trail 1

I would have to look it up being that I have Plant’s complete history, but I’m sure they have dominated their 2 historical rivals since 2000. (Hillsborough and Robinson)

Armwood was a rival created out of competition and that had been fairly even. 

But im sure Plant has good records in the last quarter century or so against the other 2

Looks like Plant has won 14 in a row versus Robinson, nolebull.

Lakeland's biggest local 'Rivalries' (Kathleen, Winter Haven, Jenkins) have been quite lopsided. Not sure how much of a rival George Jenkins is to Lakeland, but proximity kind of dictates it. Many of the parents that lived in that area went to Lakeland (before GJ existed), and now their kids go to GJ. 

Lakeland is 25-2 against Kathleen since 1993 (26 regular season games, 1 playoff game). Although Kathleen has seen some more recent success, beating Lakeland in 2013 & 2016.

Since 1993, Lakeland is 20-0 vs. Winter Haven

Since 1994, Lakeland is 22-1 vs. George Jenkins (GJ won in 2003).

I suppose Columbia vs Suwannee would be considered lopsided as Columbia had won 11 straight games and have nearly double the wins in the series all time

Crystal River beat Dunnellon 20-13 this past season.  Prior to that, Dunnellon had beaten Crystal River each of the past 16 seasons, including victories by a combined score of 100-12 over the past 2 seasons.

If we did a vote for "best" lopsided rivalry, Kathleen vs Lakeland would have to be on there.  Those two have had some great games.

No doubt. If you added up the scores from that time, it wouldn't be as bad as one would think for being so lopsided. 2018 was definitely the exception to the rule with a 50-0 Lakeland win. But many games have been under a 7 point difference.
