What I find interesting is that you look at the talent profile in central FL and things are much more spread out than in south FL.  I think there is greater parity in central FL, relatively speaking, than in Dade and Broward counties.  As I have stated elsewhere, Dade and Broward is where the bulk of the transfer "problem" in the state exists.

That said, when one looks at the total number of hs players in FL, the actual amount of high-tier talent moving around each year is relatively low.  Some people from outside FL talk as if the whole state is the Wild West.  The truth is that less than 5% of total schools in FL are benefiting in a significant way from transfers.  And, of those, they sometimes lose in the deal, ie Chaminade lost a very talented db to Miami Central and St Thomas lost a very talented WR to Deerfield Beach.

Your post seems to be on spot. South Florida players like to gravitate to an open poistion to a good team that will use them as soon as they dress out.  They want to make a name for themselves before their senior year.

Central Florida players transfer but usually the players are not in the spot light like in south Florida. Until a program makes the playoffs for several years in a row and wins a championship, most of the players get little notice. I know Brevard will have a lot of talent once the season starts. There are several at Cocoa besides White and Holmes that should have 3 stars or more. Losing to Rockledge and Raines didn't help them, but they will have a chance to fix that this year when they play Hoover.

North Florida is the sleeping giant for HS football players. A lot of N Florida  athletes go to good colleges, just not as much hype, IMO.

According to 247 Cocoa has 3:

Holmes - 4****

Leonard - 3***

Freeman - 3***

They will have more with the younger players that's getting offers. Rockledge will have plenty along with Viera. MCC and Holy Trinity will too and Holy Trinity will finally step up against tough competition. Testing their talent against Cocoa.

Also Palm Bay doesn't have any because they all transferred to Rockledge. Funniest tweet I seen was a coach saying the Rockledge Pirates are gonna make some noise in 5A this season lmao

Well you got to admit, there's not much difference between a Raider and a Pirate. So, I am sure the former pirates are comfortable in their new home.

That's so true. My junior year at Rockledge when they updated the Raider logo we had the same exact mascot just a slight color change lol. Rockledge did get majority of Palm Bay's playmakers this off-season. They already had Palm Bay's best playmaker in Tennison.

Then I expect the Raiders to have a good season again. Back when I started watching high school football, Rockledge and Palm Bay were the best teams in East Central Florida.

I remember when Rockledge won back to back and when it always came down to Palm Bay and Lincoln in the semis.

That would be a good thing. We are adjoining counties and there is no real barrier that should prevent scheduling some good matchups.

Yea I was hoping Cocoa and Dr.Phillips were gonna turn their spring series into a regular season thing. Rockledge has played West Orange lately. Maybe there could be a tripleheader Cocoa, Rockledge, Viera vs Apopka, Dr Phillips and West Orange or Jones

Those would be some good matchups. You would think someone would make it happen.
