Who Is This FL HS Football Legend? Leonard Williams/Mainland

One of the most decorated linemen to ever come out of central FL.  Who is he and where did he play in college?  Let's see if one of our central FL posters can get this.

That's NFL 1st rounder Leonard Williams out of Mainland High. Big, fast, and what a motor....sideline to sideline. This year the Jets also drafted DE/LB Jachai Polite in the 3rd round also a blue and gold Buccaneer.

Leonard was an All American for the Trojan's of Southern Cal. He was recruited by Lane and his father Monty Kiffin, the long time DC for the Tampa Buccaneers.

In 2011, Leonard Williams of Mainland collected an unbelievable list of honors. Then listed at 6-foot-5 and 275 pounds, he was named Super Prep All-American, Prep Star All-American, Sporting News Top 125, Prep Star Top 150 Dream Team, ESPNU 150, Super Prep All-Dixie, Prep Star All-Southeast and Associated Press All-State Class 6A first team. As a senior, Williams totaled 103 tackles, 19.5 tackles for loss and 10.5 sacks.

Williams made a last-minute switch on signing day and decided to go to USC, where he twice earned First Team All-American honors.  A shoulder injury hampered Williams during his junior year, but he finished his college career with 20 sacks over three seasons for the Trojans. In 2015, Williams was chosen #6 overall in the NFL draft.  He has played 4 years for the Jets and developed into one of the best interior lineman in the NFL. He earned Pro Bowl honors in 2016.
