Lakeland Trivia

Lakeland has lost only 19 games over the past 15 years.  9 of those losses came against 2 teams.  Which two teams?

Bonus Question: Which team gave Lakeland its worst home loss of the past 15 years?

Plant is one of them

2016 Carol City is the worst home loss. 38-7

Was a shocking game to watch. Lakeland's D didn't do too badly, actually. The offense was atrocious with the QB being unable to see the field under immense pressure.

    • Columbus has made 6 Final 4's now in the past 9 years.  That is quite an accomplishment.  They seem to be a team that comes together during the playoffs and one I would not be too keen betting against come playoff time..
    • At Miami High, Andre Johnson  teamed up with future Cane Roscoe Parrish, who played qb on that Miami High team.  Johnson was an All-State selection and Parade All-American as a senior with 31 catches for 908 yards and 15 TDs.  Johnson was one of the most highly recruited players in the country.  Was timed at 4.4 in the 40 and had a 35-inch vertical leap.  Went on to play college ball at the University of Miami. In Miami's 2001 Rose Bowl victory over Nebraska, which earned them a national title, he earned Co-MVP honors with quarterback Ken Dorsey. In that game, he caught seven passes for 199 yards, including two touchdown receptions.  In 2002, he became only the second player in Miami history to gain 1,000 or more yards receiving in a season...caught 52 passes for 1,092 yards (21.0 ypc) and nine touchdowns...led the nation in yards per catch at 21.0.  Johnson was also a Big East track sprinting champion. The 6'3" Johnson was the #3 overall pick by the Houston Texans in the 2003 NFL draft.  He played with them most of his career.  During his NFL career of 193 games, he had 1062 receptions, 14,185 receiving yards, and 70 TD receptions.  He is currently #11 on the NFL's list for most career receiving yards.  Only one NFL player in history who played less than 200 games has more career receiving yards.  Johnson was a 7-time Pro Bowler and 5-time All Pro.  He led the NFL in receiving yards for two seasons.  Johnson set numerous NFL receiving records during his career.

    • Great job Columbus ..back in the state semis beating all the odds so far this year.
in 2019 we love to say a team haven’t had this schedule they haven’t had that schedule haven’t beat this national team haven’t beat this national team.
it’s all about getting to the big dance (playoffs) & being the better team at the end of the night each round ...so much instances are being made on playing this national schedule playing national ranked opponents all to show your “worthy” of being able to compete in your local classification for a “local” championship. @DarterBlue2 @badbird @ColumbiaHighFan2017class smh it’s crazy man but aye letss gooo just 1 more day.
    • Thanks for the feedback. All of the other indications are that the one likely to be back is OL Lampkin, who is probably a bit more important for facing Armwood. Lakeland figures to make its money on offense through some combination of spreading the field and running zone read and the flexbone crossbuck stuff. And the ultra heavy power sets may get a little done for them as well. The more traditional I formation stuff figures to be very difficult. The off-tackle, stretch play might work, but without the fb dive, Iso etc working, Armwood will likely be ready to key on that and take it away, too.
